As the name #SmartCity indicates, everything should be done in a "Smartest" way to make our #Coimbatore and Country the smartest one in this world. Starting right from Smart thinking, smart planning to smart execution and smart sustenance & growth.Let us look for low hanging fruits for quick wins while working on long term plans. My fellow Coimbatorians has given wonderful ideas on Infra, Green and Digital. In addition to that, I WANT #Coimbatore city to be "ZERO-POVERTY" and SELF-SUSTAINING city

1. All traffic signals & street lights should work properly & operating in solar energy
2. Rain water harvesting should be made compulsory for all houses & private/public sector buildings. (no exceptions and no corruption should involve here)
3. Road side food shops should not be encouraged in all places. It has to be only in a designated & confined area
4. Roads should be properly maintained. Digging of roads multiple times should be avoided
5. Waste segregatio & disposal should be proper

In a supreme world, we would start cities from scratch. In reality that’s impossible, the reason why we need to make efficient use of the infrastructure that we already have. It’s time to think about how we can get each individual to travel smarter and save travel time. We can focus and create transport infrastructure efficiency at Coimbatore. Umpteen number of things to focus, but Yes! This is important.

The following are the need of the hour for Coimbatore.
1.Robust traffic management with all the traffic singals functioning. (Even the airport junction signal does not work since 2 months).
2.Within the city even now we have railway level crossing. All should be into bridges.
3.Aggressive imposing of traffic rules.
4.Stringent rules on Pollution control.
5.Elimination of plastic bags usage.
6.Self driven community forums to increase the cleanliness with the help fo gov.

Waste segregation needs to ge encouraged among citizens. A credit point based system could be arrived at, which incentivizes sewage tax. The credit points will be calculated based on the weight of the degradable and non biodegradable waste submitted by each household. Strict fines could be collected for littering and the same could be used for incentivization as well.

Every house needs to harvest rain water. The level of water returned to the ground could be metered (having meters similar to water meters) and any household replenishing water levels above the average could be given discounted water tarrifs.
