The rapid evolution of telecommunications services in India has aided the overall economic and social development of the country. It has enabled better connectivity among users, increasing use of information and communication technology (ICT) services and emergence of a variety of new business models. Parallelly, there has been a quantum leap in the quantity and value of data that is being generated through the use of modern communication services. Each step of a user's interaction with ICT services, whether through traditional telecom services, devices, applications or other forms of content, results in the generation of large amounts of data.

Availability of data has enhanced the business and efficiency potential of data analytics. However, it is equally important to assess whether the data rights of individuals are being adequately protected in this changing environment. Data protection may therefore mean the ability of individuals to understand and control the manner in which information pertaining to them can be accessed and used by others. The Authority is of the view that the users should be empowered in respect of ownership and control of his/her personal data and to ensure this, all the players in the eco-system are bound to follow certain safeguards while collecting, storing and using the data pertaining to their subscribers. Full text of the consultation can be viewed here.

The consultation paper has been issued with the following objectives:
(a) To identify the scope and definition of Personal data, Ownership and Control of data of users of telecom services.
(b) Understand and Identify the Rights and Responsibilities of Data Controllers.
(c) To assess the adequacy and efficiency of data protection measures currently in place in the telecom sector.
(d) Identify the key issues pertaining to data protection in relation to the delivery of digital services. This includes the provision of telecom and Internet services by telecom and Internet service providers (TSPs) as well the other devices, networks and applications that connect with users through the services offered by TSPs and collect and control user data in that process.

Last date for submission of suggestions is 7th November, 2017, midnight.

All data is the sole ownership of individual,Since without authorization of the respective individual all of the mandatory details kept under secret control of the government.Similar process process need to ensure the comman man interest. We need the hacking peoples and already thinkers forum in the board. It must be given top priority so the fraud of detection always in place. prevention is better than cure.

When I approached Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Corporate Affairs for opening a venue for DIGITAL ECONOMY. I was blocked from emailing and it was an attempt from PRIME MINISTER OFFICE, PM's Secretary Mr Nirpender Misra. Again Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr Raghuwar Das's Secretary Mr Sunil Kumar Barnwal was threatened for showing positive cooperation. Later on I was termed that you are not welcome.May I know what exactly Mr Jayant Sinha can do ?

I suggest that all persons visiting a particular place of worship in the city/ town should register with that place of worship, be it Temple, masqu or gurudwar.it will help identify undesirable person and prevent entry of anti social elements.Security agencies will also get info on visit of particular person .it will help regulate growth of pujasthal in the country.one person should register at one place only to regulate their mushroom in growth. Thanks

Vande Mataram Modi jee, The biggest issue is lack of public confidence in going Cashless. People are still skeptical/reluctant in going Cashless. People still firmly believe that the hard/ real cash in their own hands is only undoubtedly their own money, rather than the abstract / invisible Cashless transactions. They do not trust the Invisible Money in their own bank accounts, but only the real cash in their own hands. We need to win the "Invisible Money" Vs. "Visible money" battle. Regs,

VandeMataram Modiji, The failure of Cashless India Campaign/ Bhim App, is due to strong public apprehension/ suspicion due to several reports of electronic transaction relayed crimes/ frauds. E-transactions/ through PoS machines, need to be more popularized & incentivized. People are still scared of paying/receiving Cashless payments, mainly due to misinformation, & negative campaign by our opponents. Fees charged by the banks, need to be minimized. Vande Mataram Modi jee, Swatchhta abhiyan can only be successful if we stop people from littering on roadsides, & burning garbage openly. The correct estimation of percentage of Green House gases in air, is necessary to formulate effective strategy against climate change. The scarcity of Green leafy vegetables, over the past decade has caused a big crisis, towards obtaining cheap, healthy food. We must eat food for nutrition & not for taste. Raw, unfried food like sattu is the best. Regards
