I am sure most of the suggestions are for better Infrastructure and rightfully so since it the foundation for a successful city, I would like to draw your attention to increase awareness of civic sense in the city.
This can be done by having a well planned curriculum at school.
1std - 5th Std - Basic Home hygine
6th - 8th std - Awareness to Nature and other Human Beings
9th - 10th Std - Awareness of Rights and Duties as a Citizen and Basic road sense

Hi,
Apart from infrastruture, we should also promote Mangalore as a tourism Hub. We have so any places of interest within and around the city: beaches, temples, churches etc. Tourists can visit Mangalore Via all modes of transport which also should be considered to be developed further mainly railways and port. A considerable flow of tourists within the city will ensure better income for the locals thereby improving the economy within the city as well.
