Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

Bengaluru we want to see as a world class city, When is that possible ? Any leader from Karnataka has that vision? I am writing because day by day traffic issues, corruption @BDA, BBMP registar office is simply uncontrollable. When it comes to corruption Karnataka stands after Bihar. All buildings does not have Cauvery Water still they charge BWSSB before hand if you charge you should provide the facility also STP proper drainage system are below par. Potholes and roads are like village level

-Make RWH (Rain Water Harversting) compulsory in all Buildings in bengaluru (entire India too) by giving a deadline date , if not done - disconnect Water and electricity connection - This will make bengaluru livable.

Garudacharpalya being one of the entrance to ITPL and EPIP area, which is one of the IT hub inviting people from India and abroad should have all the facilities as smart city has. So its pressing need to consider it as part of smart city. I vote for ward 82 as smart ward of smart city, Bengaluru

Please consider ward no. 82 for the smart city initiative. This ward has worst of infrastructure even though its part of the IT hub. Infrastructure development hasn't kept pace with the time. This ward will be ideal for the pilot initiative of "Smart City Namma Bengaluru"

Would like to nominate Ward #82 (Garudacharpalya) for the Smart City initiative. It's a diverse ward with people from all over the world, companies from different verticals and a community that's at the forefront when it comes to transforming civic life.
