Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the “Smart City” Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by a distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this Corporation is 202.3sq.kms, spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 Census was 7 lakhs. The present population is nearly more than 9.43 lakhs. Under the Government of India Act of 1850, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal council was established on August 15, 1855.

SMART CARD( DEBIT CARD) under this concept the entire cash transaction by through this smart card only. For example: the city bus(H-D)charge paid through this card only.... ADVANTAGES: 1.There is no problem of change( chillre paisa)2. No need to carry heavy amount in our pocket 3. No issue of pick poket n other issues 4. Can avoid quota note circulation 5.can avoid bribe also 6.its easy way to take the exact amount from customer 7. Under this concept more no of customer will do bank transction

When the city is trying to be included in the first phase of the Smart City project, two youths have come up with a sustainable model of developing a 'smart colony'. Their model was incorporated with suggestions shared at the Shape Asia Pacific-2015 conference at Bandung, Indonesia last month. We from'Manmade' which is an informal forum to implement their model, said it stresses on making people smarter, healthier and wealthier. Suggestions Welcomed

My Smart city suggestions for Hubballi Dharwad 1) Along with construction of infrastructure, please build cycle lanes along the roads, to lessen use of automobiles for short distance.(also along ongoing 4 lane road) 2) Plan the city where every area should have its dedicated park and playground. 3) Also build basic exercise equipments in playgrounds. 4) Necessary infrastructure of physically handicapped persons. 5) City should have dustbins at every 250 meters & strict laws for littering.

#SmartCity, #HubballiDharwad, #MyGov, #Karnataka My smart city suggestions. 1. Dharwad market to be modernized. 2. Dharwad rly station to be upgraded and modernized like Hubli. 3. Daily garbage collection system to enforced at all places. 4. E-governance to be implemented. Online payment of bills & taxes. Online Registration of civic/public complaints. 4. Better city bus services required. And mobile App to be developed for City& BRTS bus info. 5.Above all corruption free govt offices.
