Aurangabad, a City situated in Maharashtra stands at the confluence of Ancient Cultural Heritage and Rapid Modernization. Aurangabad, One of the largest urban agglomerates in the western region of India, has evolved into a swiftly developing industrial power house with a strong investment potential. Aurangabad has now emerged into an epicenter of urban and social progress in the region due to its strategic positioning amongst the various growth centers of Maharashtra.Aurangabad is completely ready to resolve the various infrastructural challenges faced by its citizens by implementation of various “Smart” interventions and transforming them into revolutionary opportunities.

The Ministry of Urban Development has shortlisted Aurangabad as one of the 100 cities to be developed as a Smart City under the “SMART Cities Mission”. Aurangabad Municipal Corporation is in the process of formulating its Smart City Proposal for participation in the Stage 2 of the Smart City Challenge.

The dynamic citizens of Aurangabad are hereby requested to voice their opinions/suggestions for creating a unique Smart City blueprint for Aurangabad.

The citizens may post their views regarding municipal and allied civic services such as:

• Water
• Electricity Supply
• Sanitation
• Solid waste management
• Rapid and well-connected Urban Transport
• Quality Education
• Specialized Healthcare
• City wide Surveillance
• Security Infrastructure
• Robust Digital Connectivity
• Affordable Housing

The citizens are encouraged to identify the problem areas and suggest various necessary interventions required to transform Aurangabad into a world class Smart City!

1.Bring best vocational training institutes linked with industrial programmes who can build low cost deployable resources to industries.Marathawada region don't need IIT or IIM but need the best ITI/vocational training institutes with state of art facilities where students from rural part can take affordable education who the right minds to innovate through hardship. 2.Build self sustainable green city with solar power and water harvesting 3.Build a framework for cleanliness and sanitation

Aurangabad must play on its strengths of industrial and tourism potential. Following urban areas needs attention, 1. Integrated solid waste management including waste reduction, collection & recycling/reuse to make city clean & livable 2. Transport custom through City bus service &/or Metro Rail 3. Tourism walk/circuit with amenities for heritage & historic monuments 4. Development of locked (undeveloped like NTC mill) govt. land area in integrated way 5. Nirala bazar/Gulmandi redevelopment

I have read many comments but I haven't heard anything related to "Improper Functioning of Streetlights". For smart city it is essential to that it gives energy to the citizens living there. And working street lights would give that energetic env. for the city. So what I propose is, AMC should allow companies to place their advert. hoardings on the street lights, and charge them for it. And whatever money that will be generated out of it shall only be used for streetlight work in all over city.

For development of Aurangabad & convert it into smart city, I have following suggestion 1) District connecting road Aurangabad - Shivur - Vaijapur This Road can develop in Six lane on PPP model as this road can increase connectivity with Nashik & Mumbai At present Nasik - Aurangabad is 190 K.m. takes 5 Hr.If road condition will good journey can be 3.5 Hrs. This will be First necessary step 2) Improvement needed in vicinity of Bibika Maqbara. This is possible by Modernizing colony by giving aid.

In respect to smart city concept,business,economic,infrastructure development are OK, but, the real development of social harmony,human development,cultural development, etc.things are very important for peace,harmony and fruitfull helping nature of people.For that,there should be YOGA,SPIRITUAL,PRAYER CENTRE in CITY.There should be no crime & no accused,Jail should be paid & luxurious with all accommodation like AC,bed-sofa,pure bhojan-breakfast,TV but no mobile-net as per jail manual strictly

I kindly suggest to gov of india,The city will be smart when the basic needs of this city and citizen is complete.such as transportion, water supply, and roads and good housing.so its my opinion for make smart city,first priovorities for all above needs.

Can we make Water Treatment Plant in house only so we can save water and we can reduce drainage pipelines and construction works..The waste can again reuse for Domestic Purpose

In respect to smart city, people safety and security specially to woman should be given high priority.CCTV camara should be fixed at all the points from entrance of city to exit of city, which should be constantly monitored. smart city should be trade,sercives and business oriented, NO industries which make pollution, should be sanctioned within the limit of 25 kms of the city. The city should be completely with trees and plants,it should be pollution free, The people should feel like heaven
