Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

Eligibility criteria for becoming teacher has to based on EQ,love for children and passion for teaching.Methods for selection of teachers has to be well defined. Mandatory two year training should be essential before taking any teaching any assignment.Teachers should be given leadership training as they will be the ones who will make good leaders for the country.

To revamp teacher education, the PURPOSE of education in our country needs to be redefined by the central Gov.What is the purpose of educating our children? Jobs? Good citizens?Good humans?...Nobody knows. Each one defines it the way they like. Each person in the country should know the purpose... Now teacher education has to be aligned to this purpose. More than competence our teachers should be best of human beings. Teacher education should focus on value education emotional intelligence.

Teachers must be equipped with all latest technologies related to teaching learning process, usage of computer and technology could be more in education.

The teacher is next to God according to our culture. We need to find teachers from their flair to teach. We should arrange well performing students at the higher classes to give instructions at the lower classes - A student - teacher appointment. He/She may be given an honourarium and the interest in teaching profession can be stimulated in the students. He/She, when graduated, may opt for teaching profession and will be good teachers. Forcing any teacher perform well will give adverse effect.

Teachers for future generations ought to be selected in school itself with the recommendations of teachers and Principals.Teachers certainly know that the specific students conduct and nature. Once they get selected,they should be trained well with the help of intellectual and well experienced teachers in ground level.

भारत के सभी विद्यालयों में पर्यावरण शिक्षा अनिवार्य है लेकिन कोई पर्यावरण छेत्र से जुड़ा एवं पढ़ा ब्यक्ति स्कूल में शिक्षक बनकर समाज सेवा करना चाहे तो उसके लिए कोई ब्यवस्ता नहीं है.. B .Sc (ZBC) B .Ed M .Sc (Ecology and environment ) की योग्यता रखता हो तो उसे पीजीटी बायोलॉजी/लाइफ साइंस क्यों नहीं लिया जाता आखिर पर्यावरण विज्ञानं भी तो लाइफ साइंस या जीवबिज्ञान का हिस्सा है फिर ..एक तरफ पर्यावरण को इनता बढ़ावा दूसरी तरफ अवहेलना क्यों आज तो जरुरत है की ऐसे लोगो को विशेष रूप से विद्यालो में सेवा क
