Television Audience measurement implies measurement of what is being viewed on television. On the basis of audience measurement data, ratings are assigned to various programmes on television. Television ratings in turn influence programmes produced for the viewers.

In 2012 MIB sought recommendations of TRAI for laying down comprehensive guidelines/accreditation mechanism for Television rating agencies in India to ensure transparency and accountability in the rating system. After an exhaustive consultation process TRAI gave its recommendations on “Guidelines/Accreditation Mechanism for television ratings Agencies in India” to MIB on 13th September 2013. The Authority supported self regulation of television ratings through an industry led body. TRAI recommended comprehensive guidelines for registration of television rating agencies. MIB accepted TRAI recommendations and notified Policy Guidelines for Television Rating Agencies in India on 10th January 2014. Under these guidelines, the industry-led body BARC was accredited by MIB on 28th July 2015, to carry out the television ratings in India. BARC commenced its operations in 2015 and since then it is the sole provider of TV rating services on commercial basis.

Several concerns relating to neutrality and reliability of the existing rating system have been raised by stakeholders, which necessitated a need to review of existing Television Audience Measurement and Ratings system in India. Accordingly, TRAI has suo-motu floated this consultation paper with basic objective to solicit the views of stakeholders on regulatory initiatives/measures to be taken to make TV rating services more accurate, widely acceptable. This consultation paper also explores possibilities of use of new technologies to enhance credibility, transparency, neutrality and fairness in the TV rating in India. Written comments on the consultation paper are invited from the stakeholders by 2nd January 2019. Counter-comments, if any, may be submitted by 16thJanuary 2019. Dear Sir television channels should be controlled because the serials most of the channels show which spoil our culture and family relations, most of the women are addicted to it which is dangerous than narcotics and alcohol.If any media give fake news should be punished.

आ. श्री मोदी जी, आजकल टीवी पर चल रहे समाचार में इतनी ज्यादा ऋणात्मक समाचार एवं सूचनाएं प्रसारित होती रहती है कि महत्वपूर्ण सूचनाएं भी एक साधारण व्यक्ति को भ्रमित कर देती है। मेरा अनुरोध है समाचार मीडिया को प्रतिशत में बांट कर प्रतिदिन ऋणात्मक व सकारात्मक समाचार की विवेचना की जाए, ताकि भारतीय जनमानस को सही संदेश व दिशा मिल सके। रोज़ रोज़ चोरी, डकैती, बलात्कार, लूट, घूसखोरी के समाचारों में अनेकों अच्छी व सुखद समाचार दबा दी जाती है। यह प्रवृत्ति हमारे भारतीय समाज व जनमानस के लिए बेहद शर्मनाक है।

respected pm sir i am shankar singh village makhdoom farah mathura u.p . respected sir our village near by pt. deen dayal Upadhyay janm sthal but last 5 year has gone but our member of parliament not come in my village in any singel time and not chek our village condition and in my village bahut hi gandagi he or bahut hi keechad he hamare village ke pradan ko to sayad koi matlab hi na ho sir aapase nivedan he kuch keejiye or hamare village ka uddhar kejiye danybad..

Namaste Modi ji,Atleast we should stop immediately crime related serials like CID,CRIME ALERT ,SAVDHAN INDIA BECAUSE these serials are giving training to our children and youth that how they can commit a crime.By small clips we can aware public about crimes but these serials are showing whole crime committing process.And now in technology Like YouTube,JIO CINEMA AND many apps are directly showing adult videos on their home page which is directly accessible by our children also plz give attention

प्रधानमंत्री को मेरा सादर प्रणाम।अभी जो स्थिति बिहार में आगनवाड़ी की है वो कैसे कहा जाए।मेरी मां आगनवाड़ी की सहायिका है।जो ड्यूटी अच्छे से करती है लेकिन कुछ समय से वेतन ठीक तरह से ना मिलने के कारण चिंता में डूबी रहती है। आे कहती है कि हम गरीबों की कोई सुनने वाला कोई नहीं है।जो पैसा बच्चो को पोषहार के लिए मिलता है ओ सेविका 75% अपने पास रख लेती है।अगर देखा जाए तो आगनवाड़ी को चलाने में 75% भागीदारी सहायिका का होता है।आपसे निवेदन है कि अपनी एक नजर आगनवाड़ी के तरफ फिर से थोड़ा सा दीजिए।जय श्री राम
