There is a need for Sustainable Tourism growth. The short-term growth will be disastrous. The sustainable growth can be accertaied by promoting eco friendly growth with consideration of all important issues like carrying capacities. As the eco system of river is very sensitive so there is a need of tourism infrasture development keeping its effect in mind. There should be a limitation on number of tourist. Pollution free river transport system. Preservation of wild life near gangs with tourism.

Ganga River Cruise and Trade Open up Ganga for a major trade route and River Cruises with luxury liners to attract foreign tourist.. In Europe and USA River cruises generate high profits. Here is the link http://www.vikingrivercruises.com/cruise-destinations/europe/ . This will open up ECO tourism. This will require water in the river also. That means the flow of water needs to be maintained. These initiative will generate more jobs as well.

Tourism and cleanliness of Ganga are linked. If Ganga is clean tourism will automatically pick up. Water sports, meditation centers, spas, adventure sports, well managed and clean religious places, forestation and wild life will also attract tourists, as well as help keep Ganga clean. Infrastructure improvement to include comfortable ashrams, connectivity by helicopter service at reasonable tariff and availability of nutritious food will boost tourism while maintaining sanctity of Ganga.

Create a navigation route on the full course of Ganga and develop the villages/towns/cities along its banks into tourist attractions. Old means of transport such as horse carts, bullock carts can be used for touring the villages. This also provides livelihood for the villagers.
