Providing a digital identity to all individuals is crucial to facilitate electronic authentication for delivery of online public services. The digital identity must be unique, lifelong, online and authenticable. The digital identity should be easily verifiable in an online and cost-effective way. Aadhaar provides such a digital identity that also serves as a proof of identity and address for individuals. If such a digital identity could be linked to mobile phones in a secure manner, it would make the task of online authentication much easier at the level of the individual. As the penetration of mobile phones is high, this digital identity will facilitate the delivery of online services more easily.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome on how mobile phones and digital identity could be linked so that mobile phones can be used as instruments for online electronic authentication of individuals’ identities. The suggestions may include technical architecture and solutions, policy guidelines, process improvements, implementation mechanisms, cost effectiveness, operational efficiency, etc. You can upload your ideas in doc or pdf format.

All active mobile numbers are to contacted and tell them to submit their id and address proofs and other required details. Those numbers are not ssubmitting required docs to kept inactive. For every mobile number concerned service provider creat a digital profile. Those who have multiple mobile numbers should be linked each other.

We use mobile phones of all type. Government reqd to get issuance of only encrypted sim to each citizen. Use this sim and can call or receive. With other sims, no facility. Insert sim, mobile will display name and aadhar card number. Encryption info should be tamper proof like date of birth, birth place, parents names etc. This service could be implemented at a competitive level with a target date of completion and ownership basis. Monitoring could be done easily through any service provider.

I think that every person should have a aadhar card and government should provide smartphones(would cost government about 3-4k) with nfc (to authenticate) with default regional language to every indian which should be linked to the aadhar card and a preinstalled mygov(say) app to avail all govt. services and see status of new govt. policies and government too would have a database of the information about every indian and the services they are availing and to check fraudulent beneficiaries

when we talk about Aadhaar, we know that aadhaar is not photo id proof. so why not we implement aadhaar to amend with photograph, signature and address. so when someone go for bank account he or she should not required any address proof. and when bank officer put aadhaar no. in their id check system they can see and verify the identity of person. when we amend aadhaar. just ask person to come with all original id documents(driving license, election card etc) all will replace with aadhaar.

Mobile phone numbers can work as unique identity for each individuals. Aadhar number can be linked with individual's mobile and secure identity can be obtained and verified when required. OTP via SMS can be used for verification, similarly for Smart Phones, mobile applications on various platforms can be developed. Such identification using mobile phones can be useful in case of accidents / emergencies / lost and found etc. cases along with verification purposes at govt. offices etc.
