How can the latest advances in digital technologies, including use of mobile phones, big data analytics and other information technology solutions be deployed in Smart Cities. The entries may be in descriptive answer types and may use pictures or videos to explain the answers better.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. List three municipal services that can be improved with the use of a mobile phone.
2. Describe 3 aspects of your daily life that have improved with the use of the mobile phone.
3. Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities.
4. Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance.
5. How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure?
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

if we are telling smart city no doubt mean city should be loaded with latest and advance technology. But as we are growing slowly so firstly small small things to be done for inclination of smart cities. Like small example we all are using ATM card {"""yes we agree we are smart"""},but there are so many banks and user having so many accounts mean so many atm cards.{""now what we are thinking r we smart?""},. so you should go for UAC universal ATM card which is made in india.now u are little smart

How can access to information and data make our public spaces safe and secure? • If Government provide an information of Crime Spots over map and make a public platform to see crime trends in his location so that every citizen will know which route is safe for his journey. And Government will also know which location has what crime rate and why?

3. Develop Government Mobile valet where Gov transfer amount directly to the actual beneficiary.

Mention 3 new ways that information technology can improve Governance. 1. Beneficiary survey through mobile phone where government could make video call and identify government benefits reaching to the actual beneficiary. 2. Online Group with citizen and concerned authority in every sectors to direct link with every citizen.

4. Make India in GIS theme upto 1:500 Scale where every information i.e Road name, rivers, Places names etc. should be online and we indian use India own map instead of google map. 5. Make social media channels like facebook, google + so that every Indian data would not go to foreign server.

2. Make Agricultural product market rate information channel: In India we always heart about farmers not able to sell his product in handsome rate due to lack of information of product market rate. So I feel there should an information channel of product rate.So that farmer know where they should go to sell his product 3. Public building Information System: All Public building information in a virtual system

Suggest 5 ways in which the use of big data can make Indian cities into smart cities. 1. Make Traffic management system: All road Traffic information where data would be available for every city traffic situation for citizens to know traffic of particular road and option to plan his route to go the destination. It will save lots of time and fuel.
