Concept

Mother's Day is a celebration honouring the mother of the family, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. This day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year and is an occasion to show your affection, respect and care towards your mother.

In the spirit of celebrating Mother’s day, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India is organizing a Contest inviting stories about mothers. The Contest shall commence from 8th May, 2016 for a month long duration, ending on 6th June, 2016.

The concept of this campaign is to promote the idea of children sharing anecdotes/ stories about their mother who has defied gender stereotypes, raised her voice against gender discrimination and championed the cause of gender equality and empowerment. This story should have left a long lasting impact and consequently led to a change in the mindset of her family and/or the community at large. The premise is based on the fact that relationship with mother is one of the closest and may be a strong influencer in shaping behaviours and attitudes of her children. A mother is also a source of inspiration and a role model for her children. When an anecdote/story is narrated about a mother, it can be used as a catalyst to bring about a positive change in societal mindset. This may further lead to a more gender sensitive society which recognizes the contributions of a mother, in particular and women, in general.

The objective of the contest is to engage with larger audience through sharing of stories about mothers, thereby encouraging inter-generational dialogue, sensitizing men and boys, being a role model for an empowered daughter. This also creates an opportunity for open conversations against gender discrimination, inequality and dis-empowerment, which in turn leads to a positive mindset change in the society.

Some of the suggested themes are gender equality and empowerment, gender discrimination, sexual harassment, domestic violence, social evils like dowry and early marriage and so on.

Coming from a middle orthodox family, the girls here have always faced a setback. Through all the thicks and thins, my mother has always stood by me. She just a senior secondary school graduate but has made sure that her daughter is a qualified and more importantly a good human. It is because of her sacrifices and her belief I get the strength to achieve something productive out of my life. There are no possible words to show my gratitude towards my mother who has done so much for me. Love Maaa.

It has been said that God can't reach at all places, so he send mother in behalf of him. Mother is blessing of god. serving the mother means serving the god. Mother is only person who know her child in best way. My mother tells me how to trust the God. Only mother can teach moral values to her child. My mother tells me not do any superstition in life but to trust only on god. She teaches me not only to give good answers but also to do good queries. all mothers are loving & respectable.

My mother for whom no words are enough to describe her inner strength in fighting stereotypes. She preserved her dignity against her very abusive and philanderous husband and raised her children with supreme dedication. Not only that she provided courage to her daughter in fighting domestic violence and helped her children to lead a life which is economically as well as personally independent in every which way.She refused to be bowed down by her own kins against male dominance of society.Thanks.

Certainly mothers day is also applicable to modern mothers for their remarkable work for doing abortions for not want to take responsibilities, those who destroyed family and brought suffering to children for their free sex life a and obstructing and preventing fathers to support children by false dowery and domestic voilence and further advanced who killed husband better say father and children for their so called love. In such scienerio do we need to celebrate womens by shake of women only?

Mother this word feels like a heaven,in our real life if any one want to absorb heaven's life than give a lot love to a mother,Mother sounds like a support whom gives a lot of support in any difficulty and problem to their child,Mother is the women whom takes many problem to save her childrens.Mother is the name of sacrifise whom always been available to face any type of problem , I have seen in my life many mothers whom they are sacrificing their good life to a adjustable life.
