1. On even day, only even number plate private vehicles to be allowed on main roads and on odd day, only odd number plates private vehicles to be allowed. This restriction is only for private bikes and cars. No restrictions on autos, taxis and buses. This will reduce traffic by 40% approx. Also it will encourage people to use public transport to work. Brazil is using this way to manage traffic.
2. Install smart device in potholes which will send sms to authority to fix it. Holland uses this way

For safer travel in bus. we need a driver driving pattern database.we have to install a GPS in every bus and driver has to key in its RFID tag before taking bus to road. All information related to bus like its location , speed , ignition status is sent to a centralized server. At server side we have a software which make a database, this will tells us which driver is driving at what speed , how often he is changing lane and fuel he is wasting .This way we can sort out bad driver and improve them.

For dealing with traffic congestion we have to make centralized traffic management system. In this system we will give control of all the traffic light to centralized location. Person can adjust timing of traffic light as per the current traffic.Such that if traffic is more from one side then it can increase green light and decrease red light time for that side. Along with this we have to provide cameras on main routes to see current traffic scenario. We can install load cell at traffic lights.

Travelling by buses can be made safer by increasing the no.of buses on a route which will increase their frequency and also people will wait patiently for the next bus because ,they would know that the next bus is coming in 5 minutes.
So less amount of rush and passenger s will ensure that everybody will get a seat and can travel without being rushed
