It has been observed that lack of sanitation facilities has been a major issue in cities and villages. Invariably the poor are worst sufferers due to the lack of such facilities. The solution lies in creating toilets and at the same time devoting energy to maintain them.

Toilets are more necessary in markets and crowded places> Like in croford market in mumbai, there is no toilets or may not be seen easily. People are found urinating at the bottom side of flyovers. At the time of giving contract of making toilets there should be clause of maintaining it. There should be toll free complaint number written outside that toilet so as if it is found dirty can be complained to. A flying team should visit and if found dirty should charge heavy penalties.

PPP Participation is the best way to deal with Sanitation issues in urban and rural area. Govern should fund for construction of the toilet and Private Sector should maintain the sanitation in cities. In rural area gram panachyat made responsible for construction and maintenance. Toilet can be constructed but success will depend on the maintenance. Responsibility should be handed over to all MP's to monitor this Task. MP's can have their own Task force deliver this project with in the time.

In major cities there is a mentality of people that the public toilet is unclean. We should make that sense change. I will suggest that paid or free toilet may be constructed around the city where general public meets at large numbers. and the city municipal council may maintain the cleaning of toilet and encourage people to use it.

The Government can make it mandatory for the builders to construct as many toilets as the number of flats they are building in the vicinity/city/district in which their project is located. The Builders should be asked to maintain these toilets for a minimum of five years. In the mean time, one of the NGOs working in the area should be made responsible for motivating and involving people to use and maintain these toilets

No big change required, my suggestions: 1. All bus stops, Railway stn, School, Colleges, Tourist spots have toilet, just upgrade it with professional cleaning agencies (Feedback system must) 2. Under CSR all the landmark buildings must prepare a International level public toilet. 3. Every building must have a finger board at enterance to show toilet. 4. Make green color an identification for toilet for illiterate also 5. New toilets to be prepared by govt. only on highways under MNAREGA
