Excretion near the ghat has to be prohibited. People must be reminded of Ganga's sanctity. Littering should be made a punishable offense and dustbins should be installed every few yards. People should not be allowed to litter in the Ganga in the name of worship. The worship should be organic and non polluting alone. Vendors should not be allowed beyond a point. Boats should not be polluting the water. Cleaners must be employed. A few guards must keep a watch on who is breaking the rules.

We can't go for one solution for all similar issues. Like what some authority without any R&D stating now a days. Applying Sabarmati scheme on either Ganga or Yamuna may prove very negative. For Ganga we need to work on for natural wetlands and wherever there would be any proposal for Ghats, the wetland (maximum) should be avoided. The planning should be so done that, if there would be any sudden rise in river, a parallel channel/ canal should be able to bear the extra load.
