We have pollution control legislations that are as good as any in the world; problem is awareness, execution and monitoring of these norms. Clean up the Pollution Control Boards for States & Centre by eliminating political appointments, bring in professionals and monitor based on reports and empowered NGOs to check using RTI Acts. Increase tariff on usage of fresh water to promote reuse/reduce/recycle principles.

गंगा किनारे पर बसे शहरों में जी औद्योगिक इकाई है उनका एक सर्वे किया जाना चाहिए और उनका वर्गीकरण किये जाये की कोनसी इकाई किस प्रकार का कचरा दूषित जल तथा वायु का उत्सर्जन करते है तथा उनके पास इस प्रकार के कचरे के निस्तारण के लिए क्या ठोस उपाय है यदि नहीं है तो उनको एक निर्धारित समय के भीतर उसके निस्तारण के लिए जरुरी उपाए करने के सख्त निर्देश दिया जाये अगर उसके बाद भी उसका निस्तारण नई किया जाता तो उन इकाइयों पर भारी जुर्माना लगाया जाये तथा उस जुर्माने के पैसे को गंगा की सफाई अभियान पर खर्च लगाया ज
