The National Archives of India is the repository of the non-current records of the Government of India and is holding them in trust for the use of administrators and scholars. It is an Attached Office of the Ministry of Culture.

It was set up on 11 March 1891 in Calcutta (Kolkata) as the Imperial Record Department. With the subsequent transfer of the National Capital from Calcutta to New Delhi in 1911, it was shifted to its present building in 1926 at the crossing of Janpath and Rajpath.

National Archives of India seeks entries for logo for 125th anniversary celebrations.

Citizens are invited to design/suggest a suitable logo for the occasion.

The last date of submission is 2nd March, 2015 (11:00 a.m).

The selected entry will be awarded a prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

Logo for 125th Anniversary of National Archives of India. The logo inspiration is Sanskrit script written as 125(number), and 'anniversary celebration' upper side, national dignity is used to show the integrity and Pride of India

Logo is very simple. Ink pen attached-to-bird's-feather represents the maintaining of records is since a very long ago when such pens were used. "Repositing since 1891" represents, the records have been kept/maintained since 125 years when ink pens with feather were present.
