While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems.
All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
Questions
1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why.
2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less.
3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor.
4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens.
Entry Deadline
• Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015.
Evaluation
The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria:
• Do-ability (50%)
• Innovation (50%)
Award
Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts:
Rs. 40,000 - First Prize
Rs. 25,000 - Second Prize

The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot

• All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing.
• The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only.
• The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less.

2. Auto. toll collection
3. Violation of rules-scan RFID,enter violation code & upload image.System send email/SMS to RFID holder for violation.Payment-online.Dynamic assessment of penalty amt or license cancellation.
4. Camera at Traffic signal–Send video of violation.To generate jobs for digital India initiative.Reduces corruption,tracking vehicle in crimes,emergency help

Public Info–Provide point of contact for any issues faced in city. Grievance redressal will allow time bound & effective way for resolving issues, avoiding corruption.Provide request status dashboard to govt for any intervention.
e service delivery –Services should allow online request creation & tracking.Ensures official work in time bound manner to provide apt solution
Intelligent Traffic Mngt–Automated tools to capture traffic violations for smooth traffic & citizen safety

Q1 Sir, Crime,Wastage of Water and Traffic problem is common in every city so I suggest(i) Video Crime Monitoring.(ii)Waste Water Management(iii)Intelligent Traffic Management.
Q2Sir, I wuld like to see Electronic Service Delivery as in Denmark
Q3 Sir, 1. High Quality Education in Government Schools(ii)Free schooling for All(iii) Good and Equal Medical Facility for Rich and Poor in Government Hospitals.

SMART IDEAS FOR SMART CITIES:
1. Smart cities must clear up garbage and fine people for messing up the cities.
2. Smart citizens must be motivated to obey traffic rules while driving and walking.
3. Smart cities must control pollution emitted by vehicles.
4. Smart cities must have smart police who will stop illegal encroachment of pavement and protect women in case of emergency call.
5. Smart cities must offer water and a hygienic drainage system.

Each city is facing many problem these days in India. For a sustainable India we must focus on few main points like water leakage indentification and preventive measurements taken for that in our city. Use of energy efficient and green buildings like use of solar panels on buildings.Recyling of all possible waste.

Sir,
In every smart city there should be garbage recycling plant, where dry waste & wet waste to be separated. Organic manure tank should be built for wet waste Then plant trees like Ashwatha, Neem. which release more oxygen and taking more Co2 from Environment. And each smart city have specialty of different field sports, culture, science ,disaster management ,skill development etc

the government should delegate technology in reducing its work load for collecting utility payments through public private partnership, for example a person has to travel 2-5kms to pay his utility bills from his place. the govt can have its own payment terminals in association with small vendors or if the govt allows licences to payment terminals to collect utility like oxicash pos to collect all kinds of utility bills this will serve great purpose and reduce inconvenience for common man.

Its duty of every citizen to do their surrounding clean otherwise get ready for penalty. Environmental cops should be imposed to watch & for chalans on target bases job.
3- Traffic is a huge problem so in crowded areas/markets entry of vehicle shud be prohibited during peak hours(10-12pm & 5-9pm) as per local crowd. Proper paid parking for shopkeepers according to their requirement.Effective public transport, cycle on rent service.
4-Rain Water management & waste management system,no pets road
