While each smart city will have distinctive features specific to its location, demography, culture and other such factors, there maybe smart solutions to problems which are common to all cities. This contest seeks to identify such smart and innovative solutions to common problems. All questions in this category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. Questions 1. Out of the following 21 smart solutions, select 3 solutions that should be applied to all Indian cities and provide a brief write-up (max. 50 words) to explain why. 2. Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city(anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less. 3. Describe 3 ways that Indian cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor. 4. List out 5 essential facts about your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizens. Entry Deadline • Entries may be submitted online on the mygov.in portal latest by 23.59 hours (11.59 pm) on Saturday, 20th June 2015. Evaluation The submissions will be evaluated on the following criteria: • Do-ability (50%) • Innovation (50%) Award Two winners in each category will be awarded a citation from the Prime Minister at the Smart City Mission Launch on June 25th, 2015 at VigyanBhavan, New Delhi, along witha cash prize of the following amounts: • Rs. 40,000 - First PrizeRs. 25,000 - Second Prize The winning ideas would be shared with the 100 SmartCities as potentiallyimplementablesolutions and will be considered for pilot • All questions in a particular category must be answered to be considered as a complete submission and to be eligible for short-listing. • The participants(s) entries will be judged for each category independently and on merit. In case of short listing in more than one category, a participant will receive prize money for one category only. • The length of each answer is limited to 250 words or less. (Contd) can be sent to both owner and tenant. They can update the unique identification in website as proof of scanned documents. With Birth certificate smart card number will be generated, smart card will be issued once 18 years and it is linked to bank account. If required Aadhard card details can be used for this smart card as reduction in cost. So using this card as explained in my first answer all taxes and government deductions can be linked.

City office shall be paperless office. Birth, address change, marriage, death can be requested to update through internet. Certificates will be posted to person. In city office internet facity shall be provided to Whoever does not have internet facility. No que, no leave to office. Smart card (told in last post) can be Updated. Hospitals can upload their certificate with unique identity. Address change can be sent to respective departments using scanned copy of agreement and confirmation post

Garbage/Waste solution 1. every municipal corporations are bearing more than Rs.10 per kg for lifting, carrying, dumping and disposal of the waste. 2. provide the same land of 5-8 acre which is being used to dump the waste. 3. provide a Bank loan of 50 Cr. for the CNG PLANT from waste to entrepreneurs. 4. provide loans for e carting rickshaw to municipal workers. 5. offer the same rate Rs.10 as currently you are bearing. 6. entrepreneur will run the plant against CNG Produced

People should be punished for polluting water bodies and all nalas must be closed and connected to water treatment plants directly All government officers and even public should be made aware of its importance

India should first made energy sufficient by introducing renewable power sources such as solar electrical power plants and introduce biodiesel for vehicles Water supply storage facilities should be improved and also distributing system should be upgraded and inter state water connection must be mandatory Proper sewage disposal plants should be setup and monitored regularly and all water source including rivers lake streams must be cleant thoroughly and idol immersion in drinking water banned

1. Video Crime Monitoring- As the nation grows crime rate will grow. Proper Video Monitoring system throughout all major cities in India is a must. 2. Waste Water to be treated- Proper use of waster water is in every single building or society is important. Like the water we use to bath should be recycle for flushing toilets and the water from the toilets should be recycled for watering plants and trees. This all should be automatic. 3. Renewable source of Energy is a must for our future.
