There are always two options. One is to have uniform syllabus through out the India or have separate modules for each state. This policy decision is to be made first.

At present quality of education and training provided to ITIs is very poor and substandard 80% of trained people are changing their feild after completing diploma. They dont have gud option of on job training. Most of the private sector companies are not giving them proper salaries according to the skils, more.than 40% of IITs are getting salaries equivalent to un skilled labour. If somewhere they are working as apprentice they are getting harassed

I am from Maharashtra.I want to contribute(my personal experience). As there is very less payment for the polytechnic thats why the students are turning towards other fields. And the main thing is that the students doesnot believe on technical development center as on the college. The technical development centers teaches practical knowledge which can be used in day-to-day life.

I am from Gujarat. As everybody knows that Gujarat is a Vikasit Rajya, I want to contribute (hoping that some Gov. Official would listen) here. I am doing recruitment work and thus knows the system here when it comes to ITI mainly. There is enormous job opportunity but the basics had failed miserably. The courses at ITI are outdated, their administration is not professional and primarily the kids at ITI should be imparted the attitude and communication Skills along with practical applications.

At present, the training and examination procedures are not good enough in ITI system. it should be properly organised again. In Karnataka even now more than 505 seats are unfilled in ITIs due to lazy procedures followed by the Dept.

At present, the system of admission, affiliation and examination procedures are not in a fixed standard. QCI accreditation is good to improve the standards of ITI s but they are not updated their tools and equipment list as per new semester syllabus. Due to this there is a dilemma in applying for accreditation.Admission for training in ITI s must finish before the end of every JUNE so that getting seats in ITI will be confirmed for trainees. In Karnataka it is half way now.

ITIs have lost their objectives with which they had been built. It has been observed that the technical degrees/diplomas holders are being generated without having any technical knowledge. From the last 2-3 years, there are mushrooming of polytecnic colleges in Mathura without any accountability towards society or any Govt. body. Some control/ observation is required to make students benifitted. Also ITIs must revise their syllabus time to time as per industry need.

We have started one "BASUKALA PRIVATE ITI" at Koderma district of Jharkhand this year only and are determined to make it #1 ITI in INDIA in two years time. We also have a dedicated cell for the research and analysis of Vocational Training and Eduction in INDIA on various aspects like: Training Content, Regulation, Curriculum, Structure etc. I also have a short experience of working in DGET as a consultant for improvement of 1936 Govt. ITI. Would certainly report about the functioning of ITI.
