For that passengers has to enter their phone number, departure station and train number in a website.
This will send an automatic notification(SMS) whenever train reaches a station.
To reduce the message overload, passengers get notified only from three station prior to his departure station.

Indian railway should introduce travel planning system in which an online user is suppose to enter only first and last station and system will generate all the possible routes by using connecting trains also. It will decrease load on TATKAL bookings and it will also increase the synchronization between the trains and bound employees of department of taking care of right time of trains.

139 is not updated properly. Many tines I myself checked the train status n 139 informed me that train is on time but when I reached station I found train late. Railway's are facilities are good but need to apply it honestly.
