My suggestion is to create a unified, multilingual “Taxpayer Help and Guidance” platform powered by AI, with simple explanations of tax rules, personalised reminders, and step-by-step assistance for filing returns. The platform should be available through a website, mobile app, chatbot, and voice support in major Indian languages. It should clearly explain notices, help taxpayers identify mistakes before submission, and provide real-time tracking of refunds and grievances. AI should assist taxpayers but important decisions should remain subject to human review, with strong data privacy and security safeguards. This initiative can reduce confusion, improve voluntary compliance, strengthen taxpayer trust, and make tax services more transparent, accessible, and citizen-centric.

India's tax administration can become more citizen-centric by introducing an AI-powered Tax Assistant that provides personalised compliance reminders, explains notices in regional languages, and suggests eligible deductions based on taxpayer profiles. A pre-filing Compliance Health Check could identify missing information before return submission, reducing errors and disputes.
A unified grievance dashboard with real-time tracking, estimated resolution timelines, and feedback-based service ratings would improve transparency and accountability. Interactive micro-learning modules, short videos, and gamified tax awareness campaigns can educate first-time taxpayers, students, and small businesses.
Predictive analytics can identify common filing mistakes and improve forms, FAQs, and digital services, reducing the compliance burden. Publishing anonymised service performance metrics and acting on citizen feedback through regular innovation challenges will strengthen taxpayer.

Currently in India Tax literacy is very less, even highly educated are not able to submit taxes on their own and depending on CAs even though they don't have many investments, companies are providing options and people are paying and using not because of lack of time but not having awareness of submission. even though finance team is updating portal and mentioning making easy but there are not awareness and proper details what to follow. Unfortunately, even in site if there is any grievance the response is not proper and no way to share more details on top of the raised grievance or to raise complaints. the responses are having old options/ different naming which is very difficult to get where the option and what is renamed now. It would help to make it simple for individual users, and it will help to people by introducing as a lesson in economy for high school kids and spread awareness who to submit and when to submit income tax, most of them not sure until they get notice.

Introduce a simple 'Tax Basics' module in school/college curriculum (Class 11-12 Commerce, or a short online certificate course) — teaching young citizens how income tax, deductions, and filing work before they start earning. This builds a tax-literate generation early, reducing future compliance errors and confusion."
