The Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites innovative ideas and constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen taxpayer services and contribute towards building a more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly tax administration. This participatory initiative provides a platform to share practical ideas for enhancing taxpayer awareness, simplifying compliance processes, improving digital taxpayer services, and promoting ease of compliance.

Suggestions may also focus on strengthening service delivery, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), improving grievance redressal mechanisms, enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, and introducing innovative solutions to improve the overall taxpayer experience. Your valuable ideas will contribute towards making tax administration more accessible, technology-driven, citizen-centric, and responsive, while supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through better public service delivery, participatory governance, and greater taxpayer trust.

"A taxpayer-friendly system should be simple, transparent, and fully digital. My suggestion is to make tax filing easier with pre-filled returns, faster refunds, AI-powered assistance, and clear guidance for every taxpayer. Honest taxpayers should be rewarded through recognition, quicker services, and reduced compliance burden. At the same time, stronger action against tax evasion will promote fairness. A tax system built on trust, efficiency, and innovation will encourage voluntary compliance and contribute to India's vision of a developed nation." "My suggestion is to create a tax system that is simple, transparent, and citizen-centric. Faster refunds, easier compliance, AI-based support, and incentives for honest taxpayers will build trust and encourage voluntary tax compliance. A taxpayer-first approach will strengthen India's economy and support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047." 🇮🇳 and clear communication can make the tax system more efficient and trustworthy. A taxpayer-friend

Taxpayer first: With the increasing infrastructure and technology the development of the country takes place linearly.New bridges, buildings, public transport system etc.everything needs to be developed.Tax plays a big role in the of these construction. It's the moral responsibilities of the citizens to pay the tax at time fairly. The lower class gets support through different schemes of the government. The government is able to provide all this with the help of the tax payers.Big businessman, industriest and the top 1% who have the facilities should also think about the other people of the country who face poverty and are unable to support themselves due to financial problems, diseases etc.Tax should be collected fairly and at time.Different taxes are collected by different means through daily use products, property and on other necessary needs.People against tax should understand the needs and importance of the collection of tax.Tax payer pays major role for the country and the people.

Building a Citizen-Friendly Tax Ecosystem for Viksit Bharat 2047 Tax compliance should be simple, transparent and understandable for every citizen. A guided digital platform using simple language, practical examples and interactive storyboards can empower individuals to prepare, verify and file tax returns with confidence, while retaining professional assistance. Features such as pre-filing checklists, AI-enabled guidance, "what-if" tax calculators, return simulations and automated validations can help taxpayers identify omissions and encourage accurate disclosures. A year-round tax dashboard with reminders and compliance trackers can promote timely reporting. Genuine mistakes should be supported through guided correction mechanisms where legally permissible. Such a technology-driven, citizen-centric system will strengthen voluntary compliance, build trust, reduce disputes and contribute to a transparent, future-ready tax administration aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Taxpayer First: Ideas for the Future highlights the importance of building a fair, transparent, and citizen-friendly tax system. The central idea is that taxpayers should be treated as valued partners in the country's development rather than as mere sources of revenue. The theme promotes trust, accountability, and the use of technology to make tax-related services faster, simpler, and more accessible. The review appreciates the emphasis on digital platforms, paperless processes, and quicker grievance redressal, which reduce compliance burdens and encourage voluntary tax payment. It also stresses the need for clear communication, taxpayer education, and ethical administration to strengthen confidence in the tax system. One of the strongest aspects of the topic is its future-oriented vision. It recognizes that a modern economy requires efficient tax policies that support innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth while ensuring fairness for all citizens.

Taxpayers often face several challenges while filing their income tax returns, especially during peak filing periods. Common problems include technical issues on the tax portal, differences between AIS, Form 26AS, Form 16 and ITR data, difficulty understanding tax notices, and a lack of clarity about the status of grievances. To solve these issues, the Income Tax Department could introduce a “MyTax 360” system that provides all important tax information in one simple dashboard. It could use AI to explain tax notices in easy language, identify mismatches in data, guide taxpayers through the filing process step by step, and help them understand possible compliance issues in advance. A Peak Filing Protection System could also monitor portal traffic and prevent technical failures during deadlines. If a taxpayer faces a technical problem while filing, the system could automatically record proof of the attempted submission. Together, these solutions could make tax filing simpler.

A modern tax administration should be simple, transparent, and technology-driven. AI-powered virtual assistants can provide instant guidance on filing returns, deductions, refunds, and notices in multiple Indian languages. Compliance can be simplified through pre-filled returns, one-click verification, and a personalized taxpayer dashboard with reminders and status updates. A unified grievance portal with real-time tracking and defined resolution timelines will improve trust. Financial literacy and tax awareness campaigns should be conducted for students, startups, MSMEs, and first-time taxpayers. Strong cybersecurity, secure digital services, and user-friendly mobile applications will enhance confidence. These initiatives will make tax compliance easier, reduce errors, improve transparency, and support the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through efficient, citizen-centric governance.

Dear Madam/Sir, My earnest request to you is to remove all exemptions from taxation law, make tax law simplest in the word to understand and comply. Make few tax slabs (2-3) and lower taxes. Single regime. Treat all businesses as same. No STT/CTT/AMT/MAT etc. No special rates of taxation for any income. Remove surcharges and cesses. Reduce TDS rates to just 2-3 standard rates irrespective of payment/income type. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely,
