The Income Tax Department, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, invites innovative ideas and constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, students, and other stakeholders to strengthen taxpayer services and contribute towards building a more transparent, efficient, and taxpayer-friendly tax administration. This participatory initiative provides a platform to share practical ideas for enhancing taxpayer awareness, simplifying compliance processes, improving digital taxpayer services, and promoting ease of compliance.

Suggestions may also focus on strengthening service delivery, leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), improving grievance redressal mechanisms, enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, and introducing innovative solutions to improve the overall taxpayer experience. Your valuable ideas will contribute towards making tax administration more accessible, technology-driven, citizen-centric, and responsive, while supporting the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 through better public service delivery, participatory governance, and greater taxpayer trust.

I propose introducing TaxTrust Score, a tax health system integrated into the Income Tax e-filing portal, where every taxpayer receives a compliance score based on return filing, tax payments, and compliance history. Using Artificial Intelligence, the system would provide personalized reminders, detect filing mistakes before submission, explain deductions in simple language, and recommend eligible tax benefits. An interactive dashboard would help improve compliance while ensuring privacy and data security. Small businesses, salaried employees, freelancers, and senior citizens would receive guidance, reducing errors, disputes, and processing delays. Consistently compliant taxpayers could receive faster services, verification, and recognition, encouraging voluntary compliance. TaxTrust Score would strengthen taxpayer awareness, build trust between citizens and the Income Tax Department, and support Viksit Bharat@2047 through a transparent, technology-driven tax administration.

The future of taxation must focus on simplicity, transparency, and trust. Technology can transform the taxpayer experience through five key innovations: * **1-Click Smart Filing:** AI automatically pulls verified income and deduction data from banks and employers to pre-fill returns. Taxpayers simply review and approve in seconds. * **24/7 Plain-Language AI Copilot:** Conversational AI guides answer complex tax questions in simple local languages, explaining rules clearly and guiding users to eligible savings. * **Instant Refunds & Public Tracker:** Smart payment networks deliver refunds within minutes, alongside a transparent dashboard showing how your tax dollars build local schools and roads. Proactive Error Prevention:** Machine learning scans returns before filing to flag accidental mistakes or missed deductions, preventing future notices and audits. Unified Digital Tax Wallet:** A single secure portal consolidates personal income, property, and local taxes for effort

My suggestions are around 2 areas 1. Taxation on LTCG & STCG: As we all agree that stock markets are the most crucial first step for the economic growth, we cannot have age old practices of having a penalizing tax structure in both departments. Yes, put stringent measures on derivatives like hiking STT, so on so forth. But taxation as a whole should offer some cushion so that investors both retail/non-retail find it more of a reasonable tax liability. Not to confuse with nullifying taxes on either of the two, these kind of measures is always a win-win situation for both government and investors, resulting in a more stable economy 2. We now have AI capturing even the complicated tasks like IT filing. Why dont we bring in an AI tool linked to the IT filing portal, to give us suggestions on the exact nuances in tax filing process.

**Suggestion: AI-Powered Smart Tax Assistant** I suggest introducing an AI-powered Smart Tax Assistant on the Income Tax portal to provide 24×7 guidance, personalized compliance reminders, document assistance, and instant grievance support. The platform can help taxpayers understand tax rules in simple language, reduce filing errors, and improve the overall taxpayer experience. This initiative will enhance transparency, simplify compliance, strengthen taxpayer trust, and support the vision of **Viksit Bharat 2047** through a more citizen-centric and technology-driven tax administration.

This document presents a forward-thinking approach to taxation by emphasizing transparency, digital innovation, and citizen empowerment. The idea of a Transparent Digital Tax Ecosystem is both practical and visionary, showing how technology can simplify tax processes and strengthen trust between citizens and the government. The inclusion of educational hubs, reward systems, and green tax credits reflects a holistic vision that connects financial responsibility with social and environmental progress. It highlights how honesty, efficiency, and sustainability can be celebrated within a modern tax framework. By linking taxation to everyday benefits such as better schools, hospitals, infrastructure, and eco-friendly initiatives, the project inspires pride in civic participation. Overall, this work demonstrates a deep understanding of how taxpayers can become active partners in nation-building, while also encouraging innovation, fairness, and inclusivity for a brighter future.

"The future of taxpayer services should be centered on simplicity, transparency, and trust. AI-powered assistance, paperless processes, faster refunds, multilingual support, proactive reminders, and secure digital platforms can make tax compliance easier. A taxpayer-first approach should ensure timely grievance redressal, reduce compliance burden, and encourage voluntary tax payment, strengthening both citizen confidence and nation-building."Make paying taxes easy, fair, secure, and rewarding, so every citizen feels like a valued partner in India's growth and nation-building."The future of tax administration should place taxpayers at the center by making compliance simple, transparent, and hassle-free. Leveraging AI, pre-filled returns, paperless processes, faster refunds, multilingual support, and secure digital platforms can significantly improve the taxpayer experience. Time-bound grievance redressal, continuous awareness programs, and regular feedback mechanisms will build trust.

Recently during the student protest, Shri Sonam Wangchuk was admitted to Safdarjung hospital and later shifted to Medanta Hospital. Are the government premier hospitals also not able to handle the case, for which a private hospital comes into play. This is also misuse of the tax payers money. Mostly it has been seen that, in Delhi NCR particular, most of the high profile cases are referred to private hospitals like Medanta and Ganga Ram, this is also an accountability of the tax payers money, as to the best of my understanding, private hospitals are not free. This has been seen in cases that involve many govt high ranking officials including politicians. If the tax payers money has to be utilized in a better way, way not upgrade the government hospitals and medical colleges in such a way, that we don't have to look for private hospitals interventions.

TDS should be auto-populated for Tax deducted under 194 J(b) and other sections to make filing easier. Appreciation certificate can be issued to all people who file their ITR and encourage them to declare their income with integrity

The portal should calculate tax liability on the go, since companies already deduct and pay tax monthly through TDS. Citizens should not have to re‑enter the same income details. Instead of sending full income details by email (which raises security concerns), the system should notify taxpayers with a secure login link. Inside the portal, they can view their pre‑filled income and tax records. Filing should be conditional: - If tax is fully paid → No filing required. - If tax payable → Pay directly, filing optional unless claiming extra deductions. - If tax refundable or deductions claimed → File return to claim benefits. This would reduce stress, improve compliance, and protect sensitive data while making filing voluntary unless truly needed.
