I am sharing a link to an article in the National Geographic mag on utilisation of e-services to provide health consultancy to people in remote areas having limited access to nearby health centres or hospitals. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0733861909000656?via%3Dihub This is with respect to recent infant deaths at a paediatric hospital at Cuttack. Similar initiatives will provide people with full time access to health services and reduce burden on tertiary care.

It should be done by Gram Panchayat at rual level. People need to have a basic mobile phone, which number is connect with respected Panchayat which is digitized. from that the local people can get all updates of their village like, timing of water supply, electricity issues in their area, local tax information, announcement of notices, ration information to respected person etc... Can handle easy.

I am an IT student. I have always thought 'Public Information System' whenever I hear 'Public Distribution System(PDS)'. I think National Information Center(NIC) should launch an Application called 'Public Information System' It can bridge with Ministry of Information Technology and Ministry of Communication. It should aim at providing and access to Information and Broadcasts by Government or State Governments. Even rural people have smart phones, they have Internet facilities.

1. Allow transfer of small amounts like Rs. 500 / day via sms through a registered mobile number. 2. Provide SMS / voice updates on important issues like price of produce, weather to farmers free of cost. The service can be paid by advertisements (via SMS). 2. Keep tablets connected to internet accessible at every post office in rural India. 3. The tablets should have sufficient protection like anti-virus and auto log-out to avoid any fraudulent transactions.

CALL DROPS PROBLEMS BUT NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT! 4G in 2300 Mhz will not solve problem.3G in 900 Mhz like Airtel 3G Platinum might solve the problem. SUB-1000 Mhz frequencies have much better indoor coverage & requires less number of transmitter towers. So, Govt should give incentives to TELCOS for launching 3G Services in 900 Mhz Band to drastically Reduce Call Drops. Reliance JIO will launch 4G in 800, 1800 & 2300 Mhz, so it will have much LESS CALL DROPS.

Rural India should be well connected with high speed internet with minimum cost. e- commerce is next sector to be focussed in rural india. Internet connectivity to every village, mobile tower to every village. It has been seen that there are very weak mobile signal in most of the rural area. These things should be taken care to digitisation to rural India. Please consider Kerala state all villages as a model plan and then post sucess imlement for the entire India
