During the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Radio programme, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shared that a large number of people have been talking to him about the increase in usage of drugs. The Prime Minister described this as a very serious issue and assured that he will talk about the menace during the next ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio programme.

The Open Forums invites you to talk about the menace of drugs. Share how you feel this menace can be mitigated, what steps can be taken to get youngsters out of this. You can share anecdotes – how you saved children from this menace of drugs or if you have had a personal experience. NGOs working in this sphere should contribute. Your contribution would be a major step in freeing India from the menace of drugs.

Sir, Drug menace is a tough task to deal with, here it is absolutely necessary to catch hold of the source from where the drugs are comming, especially borders of Gujarat Rajasthan, Madhyapradesh, J.K.. police dept mostly knows but do not dare to catch them.!!!! Drug peddlers are normally found in the form of beggers on the road signals, slum areas and hi-fi parties and disco theque in juhu, bandra, fountain. v.t.ballard estate, dharavi, khar danda, etc, etc. most of the rickshaw wala's know.....

AS PARENTS WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT OUR CHILDREN GOING TO BARS AS IT HAS BECOME A FASHION. PLEASE BAN THESE BARS IN DELHI BEFORE OUR CHILDREN BECOME ADDICTS AND RENDER THEMSELVES USELESS FOR THE COUNTRY. PL DO THIS SERVICE TO SOCIETY IN DELHI ATLEAST WHERE GOVT HAS PERMITTED BARS VER LIBERALLY AS IT FETCHES REVENUE TO GOVT. BUT WE MUST SAVE OUR SOCIETY AND YOUTH FIRST AND NOT GO FOR REVENUE ONLY. ARTICLE 47 OF CONSTITUTION DOES NOT PERMIT THE GOVT TO HAVE ANY POLICY OF ENCOURAGING LIQUOR CONSUMPTION

1) Make Education system value based. 2) Force Film Industry to stop promoting immoral / illegal activities. 3) Make Drug Smuggling / Peddling punishable by Death. 4) Make law so Courts will be bound to give shoot at sight orders for absconding & Proclaimed Drug Peddlers / Smugglers. 5) Ban all Pubs, Discos in all Hotels as Drugs are sold there. 6) All Addicts should be put to 7 years rigorous imprisonment. 7) I want to assist the Government on this.

I hv read mny suggestions for drug addiction but most of d solutions r ephemeral. ths s bec everyone is thinking govt shd do smething to avoid drug menace. govt only bring in sme laws. but implementing all the laws very difficult. by inculcating family values and systems again this can be avoided. someone tries only bec they feel they are neglected and they must do something to get that attention. by loving your children more and by really showing it, this can be achieved. this is our job.
