We bring to you this wonderful news that our city-Pasighat has been selected under 23 fast track cities by Govt. of India and we need to submit the revised plan by 15th April 2016. As we know that we worked very hard in our previous attempt however unfortunately we missed coming in the first 20 list of cities and finished at 39th rank - missing by just 3 points. Let us take this as a positive feedback that we were very close to winning it and were far ahead of many other big cities.

Looking ahead, we need to work on the gaps identified by Govt. of India to revamp the proposal. One of the key weaknesses identified is SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat) analysis. Here, specifically, Weakness and Threat needs to be more elaborate. We have uploaded a discussion page on mygov portal about this aspect of proposal and need support of people of Pasighat to come up in big numbers and contribute towards this discussion. Let’s brace up for this challenge and work with renewed and reinvigorated spirit in the direction of making Pasighat a smart city.

Our Pasighat being a least populated city across the country will give us an extra edge over execution of city planning which has vast areas for its expansion too from all four directions. But our people will have to coordinate in all front to make the execution of plannings successful by means of not putting hurdles in ceding lands etc. as for every development to take place, one will have to compromise with lands for widening of road/construction of drainage and other modern day facilities.

. Unfortunately as most of Pasighat population is rural based, inadequate infrastructure, training and education and unskilled and lack of quality in the labor force is a result of these inadequacies. Fortunately not only in India but all over the world, this situation has been accounted for and many governmental organization and corporates either individually or in partnership have started infusing education and training opportunities an also internship and employment facilities.

Pasighat is connected by road to Guwahaty and Dibrugarh which are prime place in north east. With commissioning of ALG for commercial flight it will be connected to every city in the country!

However with inflow of more tourists with modern facilities will be required in the city. Eco tourism/ cultural tourism will be the best avenue for tourism development.

The local WLA, raised concerns regarding water stagnation during the heavy monsoon season and the resultant common disease like malaria, dengue, etc. towing the line, departments should be asked to plan well ahead before taking up construction works which might unintentionally create hindrances later on.

Emergency healthcare response system is available in the city. Only it has to be enhanced to cater to the need of growing population.

Akashiganga This is a sacred place situated near Lekhabli at a distance of 100-km, from Pasighat and 25-km from the nearest railhead at Silapathar in Assam. The place is associated with the legend of Kalika Puran according to which the head of the Sati (Parvati) fell at this place when she was cut into pieces by Lord Vishnu. The name Akashiganga is suggestive of a water channel in the hill. The place provides a Beautiful and magnificent birds- eye view of the Brahmaputra meandering far below.

Skilled labor force is and will be in great demand especially when India who is constantly termed as a growing economy, we can say is on the ebb of an economic boom. The flip-side of this situation would be more employment opportunities and the want of quality manpower to fit these opportunities.

In health sector Pasighat is ahead of all cities in the state and ahead of most cities of North East Region. It is home to the oldest hospital of more then 100 years in the state. Has telemedicine facilities. Infrastructures available for epidemic control and other desease control programme. With its exceptional air quality, Pasighat can be a health centre.
