In an endeavour to address the inadequacies of capacity constraints and improve its modal share in total freight eco system of the country, Indian Railways has come up with Draft National Rail Plan.

A draft of long term strategic plan called the National Rail Plan has been developed to plan infrastructural capacity enhancement along with strategies to increase modal share of the Railways. The National Rail Plan will be a common platform for all future infrastructural, business and financial planning of the Railways. This plan is being circulated among various Ministries for their views now. Railways aim to finalise the Final plan by January 2021.

क. भारतीय पर्वतीय रेलवे १. हिमालय रेलवे लेह - मनाली - श्रीनगर - काठमांडू - थिम्फू - ईटानगर रेलमार्ग बनाया जाए। २. अरावली रेलवे ख. नगर परिधीय रेलमार्ग City by - pass circular narrow/ meter guage railway बडे़ नगरों के चारों ओर वृत्तीय by - pass रेलवे लाइन बिछाई जाऐं।

भारतीय अन्तरराष्ट्रीय रेलवे १. भारत - मॉस्को ( रूस ) रेलवे लाइन बिछाई जाए। २. भारत - वियतनाम रेलवे लाइन बिछाई जाए। ३. भारत- श्रीलंका रेलवे लाइन बिछाई जाए।

रेल्वे प्रबंधन को रेल्वे बोर्ड और सरकार यह अधिकार प्रदान करे कि हर DRM को 300 से 500 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर यातायात और राजस्व का आकलन कर चेयर कार गाड़ियां चलाने की अपने हिसाब से पूर्णतः छुट दे, जिस से आम जनता को रेल का सफर करने मे आसानी और सुविधा उपलब्ध हो इस प्रकार की व्यवस्था से रेल्वे को यक़ीनन लाभ मिलेगा।

Method to improve space utilisation in second class: Make the coaches interconnected just as you do in sleeper coaches. People can move to a different second class coach if their current coach is overcrowded. 2. Improving fuel efficiancy : Reducec the weight of coaches by removing heavy doors, replcae with the ones used in metro rails. Use aluminium instead of Iron.
