Varanasi has been selected by MoUD, GoI under Smart City Mission Phase-I 100 cities. To be selected within 20 Cities of Phase-2, a Smart City Plan has to be prepared and submitted. Smart City Plan will be prepared by consultation and suggestions of Citizens, Stakeholders and residents regarding city services viz 24x7 Electricity and Water supply, Sanitation & Waste Management, Street Lighting, Transportation, Roads/streets/Pedestrian lane, Health, Education, eGovernance, Tech-savvy (Communication, Internet Connectivity), Clean & Green Environment, Old men, Women & Child Security.

Citizens are requested to suggest innovative, sustainable and SMART solutions regarding services for under below area based strategies:

1. PAN City Initiative : Selection of a service by citizen for implementation of that service on entire city

2. Area Based Development: Selection of specified area rather than entire city based on three models:

a. Retrofitting: (Planning and improvement of infrastructure in an existing City built-up area of at least 500 acre)
b. Redevelopment: (Replacement of existing built-up area and co-creation of new layout with enhanced infrastructure within minimum 50 acre of area)
c. Greenfield: (Planning and development of all and entire infrastructure required for a city on at least 250 acre area Green/Open/unused land adjacent to current city limit. Land can be acquired by land pooling on PPP) based on viability

CCTV should be installed at strategic locations in the varanasi city which would benefit the CCP in identifying the people dumping garbage along road side and Police in identifying the traffic violators in terms of wrong entry and parking. The traffic violators car number could be captured on CCTV and directly sent to Police control room who could send challan directly to the residents after capturing the name and address from the RTO department.

It has been observed that today's school children carry about 10 to 15 kgs of textbooks and note books on their back when they go to school. If the same chilren are provided with netbooks from Class I to Class X with their text syllabus on their netbook, I think this would reduce the load on school children and become more interesting to them. This would also save a lot of paper and would be environment friendly.

varanasi requires efficient transport system with lots of MLCP's(Multi level car parking) buildings at critical locations so that smaller streets/lanes can be converted to walking lanes and thus improve the city air quality.

Local transportation is the key to varanasi City. Effective Planning of Bus routes in and around Panaji will decongest the city from a lot of cars and bikes coming into the city. varanasi requires efficient parking management.further 24 hours water supply should be made available.Repairing of roads in almost all parts of the city is creating a major problem.It is noticed that the potholes are major reason for accidents.

varanasi is a beautiful city dotted with heritage structures and green spaces. A network of pedestrian pathways connecting these spots would be nice and will encourage citizens to walk through the city.

Here's something to think about. Solar powered zones that also act as wifi hotspots. Interesting and not too bad looking aesthetically. Great for charging your electronics or connecting to the net. Smart city required smart people .if people r not smart then this project will not be any use therefore we can teach our people to get smart. & to improve people thinking capacity to arranged programmers. have an evolutionary idea to make OUR city a Smart City “ An Unconditionally Happy City” A city with a Heart - where people love each other, compliment, support, help, cooperate, collaborate, work together as a TEAM, uplift each other, be happy to see others strengths and success, celebrate each moment of their lives. Most importantly do things because they want to and not because they have to or to get something in return. Say NO to Competition and Ranking. STOP Competitions !!!!
