The Tumakuru city, Karnataka has been qualified under Government of India “Smart City Mission”. The second stage of city challenge is the preparation of “vision and proposal” for Tumakuru City. Hence, the current exercise is to prepare and submit the statement of vision along with the proposal to the Government of India through the active participation of citizens.

Tumakuru City makes an appeal with its citizens to formulate vision and give suggestions to prepare proposal to make it ‘Smart City’.

The Citizens are requested to formulate the vision, strategies of retrofit, redevelopment, green field and pan city as per Smart City Mission statement and Guidelines of Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.

Please send your valuable opinions, suggestions, the proposals if any and feedback latest by 4th December, 2015.

Technological advancement should be considered in Public security and surveillance rather than man power. And more focus should be given on women and children safety.

Give better salary in govt jobs: Many employees in government positions receive low salary like clerks, office staff etc. Hence they expect to make money by bribery. For this they try to delay the work for so long that the client is fed up and opts for bribery for progress in the work. So low salary is one of the reasons for corruption. To curb this their salaries should be raised periodically

A SMART CITY TUMAKURU NEEDS THE FOLLWING : 1.Efficient Bureaucrats- appoint efficient officers & have Guts to do work without corruption. 2.Educated Corporators or councillors- councillors has to come out of the office and solve the problems of the people . 3.Public involvement - raise your voice for your rights and participate in the betterment of country 4.Strict laws irrespective of castism and inflential people 5.More opportunity for employability with sustainable development

3. Law to dismiss from service if found to be involved in corruption. This seems a better option. For instance if you see cases where anti-corruption bureau rides an officers home and finds disproportionate assets, the officer is suspended from employment and taken for judicial trials. But after couple of years you will find them in employment at same or even better positions. So this creates no fear among the officials against corruption.. 2. Increase the number of workers: In many offices of the government sector, the work load has gone up drastically but the recruitment of vacancies has declined This gives an option for delaying the work by officials and expect monetary or other benefits for faster completion.
