Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

ICT as a smart solution can enhance water distribution networks to operate more efficiently and with higher resilience, while the significant reduction of waste and improved waste management enabled by ICT can lead to a more resource-efficient and eco-friendly economy.

Billions of money should be invested into these smart technologies which will save the city's many more billions over the decades to come

All buildings should be upgraded with automatically dimming light switches, automatic shutting off appliances, smart meters connected to cell phones for realtime analysis, and ultra low energy LED lights

Houses and commercial spaces should get their roofs retrofitted with energy efficient insulation cutting down energy costs

have a goal to achieve zero waste by the year 2025. To do this we should have extensively expanded recycling system making recycling just about anything you want achievable.
