Trichy is a historical city. Small maps, distance information between tourist sites can be placed in small boards in the city. Small posters of historical information, one liners etc can be displayed in buses and trains. A small 'Velib' kind of tourist cycles can be set up. Small boards carrying 'Litter Free Zone' can be installed to avoid people littering especially in the main places. The information boards should also contain the main hospital numbers, near by main hotels & public toilet etc.

To implement smart city mission effectively, standards are needed. They provide a formal process to agree not only technical specifications but also best practice in issues such as public procurement of smart services, or community involvement so that everyone involved can gain confidence in the outcome. There is a wide range of issues surrounding how cities plan, procure and implement smart technologies.

A detailed study on some of the best planned cities such as New York, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Bogota, Seoul, and Sao Paolo shows the adoption of two significant concepts of ‘Dense and Mixed Use Development” and “Pedestrian Focused Cities” in the planning cities. Adoption of these concepts in our urban planning strategy can help us achieve the goals of maximum development in minimum space, efficient utilization of resources and health of citizens which are imp components of smart city.

Sir/madam gd mrng.Trichy is still a agricultural based city.nevers of city is cavery river.but most of times its dry and home safe and industrial waste water running we need to stop it because it affects agricultural a lot.Already drought affects farmer we should not increase their pain with tis.We cant depent on Karnataka for water. So need to dig pond and harvest water. Better sanitation should be made to stop mixing of waste water in river.this is an imprt issue. Ground water level goes down.

To de-congest all roads in Trichy by reducing the number of buses plying on our narrow roads. The Central Bus stand and the Chatram Bus stand to be moved further outside the City. To develop exclusive cycling lanes throughout the city so that more cars would reduce. All roads to have pedestrian pavements (by removing all encroachments and road side shops) and more pedestrian over bridges....for eg one should be able to walk from Junction to Main Guard Gate...its possible !

Trichy Corporation can keep proceeds to finance improvements to all services related to parking. A smart, strong and robust parking policy is needed to decongest cities. If we continue to subsidize cars heavily and encourage free parking no city can fulfill its potential. It is essential that parking in Trichy is smart or not, is charged for and regulated.

Peak time road demand can be managed through community and workplace participation. Globally, many cities have staggered work timings as well as introduced congestion fee to manage peak demand.
