Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

The vibrant citizens of Tiruchirappalli are requested to post their views pertaining to municipal and city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, electricity, sanitation, waste management, transport, parking, energy,housing, IT solutions,safety and security. Residents are encouraged to give their ideas and suggestions at city level as well as local area level solutionsin Tiruchirappalli.

Let us join hands together in making Tiruchirappalli a global Smart City!

We need a integrated bus stand ,we need a new market , we need a service road ,we need a specialized hospital,we need to expand airport ,ya everything we need ,but we lost more valuable things rather than this , we lost our agricultural land ,we lost our water resources ,we lost our well equipped agricultural skills, First of all we have to get that back , as we are the center of tamilnadu and our districts have major cultivable land ,we have to utilize it ,

1.Want an integrated bus stand for the city. 2.There is a need for more direct trains to metropolitan cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, delhi, Mumbai, etc... 3.More entertainment places are needed in the city for which government should take steps.. 4.More IT parks should come, so there can be employment to unemployed graduates. 5.Initiating the planting of more trees for a green city. 6.Providing houses to the poor people in slum areas and making city slum free. #Tiruchirappalli

the famous little samayapuram temple and naga temples in bharati min nagar and simco colony cannot be visited from sundar nagar and kk nagar area people due to iron fencing laid by military a small link can be given to bye pass road connecting sundar nagar also

Need to remove Gandhi Market from central city to outskirts for Cleanliness.New Terminus Bus Stand under one roof which is in pending for almost a decade. Whole India manufacturing of non recyclable plastic bags should be banned. Public should be educated much on Solar power and also saving consumable energy. RTO Need stringent check on unlwaful goods Carrier(tricycle with motor in huge) inside city.Surveillance is very poor in Thiruchirappalli. Stagnant Underground Drainage in City.

Smart Highway- Creating solar roadways. Instead of asphalt, roadways, parking lots, side walks made up of solar panels. Already practiced in Netherlands. Attached links for more info. Advantages- -sustainable and clean -lowers cost and harnesses energy -integrated LED lighting for better safety and convenience. -charges electric vehicles on the road from specially designed pathways -electric powered public transport can be used to run through these pathways

Trichy is strategically located in Trichy, Food Corporation of India should keep a centralized warehouse in Trichy for better distribution. Sand mining should be controlled and all river habitats and environments should be monitored. Airport continuously growing and producing profit with international passenger’s growth next to Ahmedabad need expansion since many years. Bilateral Agreement between Gulf & India should include Trichy airport.
