Shivamogga City Corporation, Shivamogga in Karnataka State has been selected by the Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities to participate in the Smart City Challenge Stage-2 by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. Shivamogga City is the head quarter of malnad region located on the western Ghats. Mainly Shivamogga City is known for its culture, education and commerce.

Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga has to submit a Smart City Proposal (SCP) to the Ministry of Urban Development, GOI which shall outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders unfolding the aspiration of people matched with the vision contained in the smart city proposal.

In order to make the smart city proposals more participatory and inclusive, Shivamogga City Corporation Shivamogga hereby invites smart livable and sustainable suggestions/ideas from citizens to make Shivamogga City as smart city.The resident are requested to post their suggestion pertaining to infrastructure services and smart solution such as water supply and recycling and conservation, energy management using smart grid, sanitation including solid waste management, efficient urban mobility, robust IT connectivity and digitization, safety and security of citizen particularly women elderly by use of CCTV surveillance, smart street lighting, public WiFi network, parking, development of non-motorized transport, sustainable environment, intelligent traffic management, energy efficient street lights, health and education services using IT enabled smart applications , innovative use of open spaces or any other feature the citizen would like to include as part of smart city vision.

The citizen are also requested to post their ideas of financing of the smart city plan and the revenue model to attract private public participation etc.

The last date to submit your comments is 31st October, 2015.

Hello Sir, it might work out when you are planning to expand the city. Two side drains on either sides of the road, two side under ground cable, two side drinking water line. This will avoid road cutting. So that everyone have smooth ride and government do not have to spend money on well laid roads again and again.In shivamogga

Every day we scrap some or other things. If we assume the whole world as source of scrap, at the end of the day, these scraps are going to be available for recycling.I see, may steel scrap items lie open in environment, rust and go as waste.It is possible to protect the waste from such degradation. Transport them quickly to waste-recycling-plants to extract the metals.Encourage citizens to improve handling of waste & give incentives. Factory be rated on how much waste it produce.In #shivamogg.!

The City of #shivamoga requires to ensure basic infrastructure services to enable a decent quality of life in urban pockets and a clean and sustainable environment and adoption of smart solutions and providing more public spaces to poor. It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives. There is also need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.

Corporation should be contributing in making our city smarter in terms of digitalization, technology, we are approaching to become hi-tech but along with all these things we should follow our traditions also...........!!!

-Aggressive steps to control traffic congestion in the city(building flyovers/scheme roads) -Bin all around the city. -Door to. Door garbage collection. -Solar Park. -Strengthen public transport system.....!

What should be the Vision of the #Shivamogga " A Mechatronic technology and manufaturing hub" The future is automation and digitization. The current strenghths as a mechanical innovation and manufaturing hub shall be improved by focusing on digitisation and automation. We are looking at existing machining, fabrication, foundry units adding design and manufaturing capabilites for electronics and software to make products that are further automated and intelligent.

I think for any smart city energy is a big concern.Since now a lot of new buildings would come up, I feel most of those buildings should have solar panels installed to make the city energy sufficient or maybe even surplus.Moreover Led bulbs could be used.In shivamogga..
