Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

Ward 82, Garudacharpalya - perfect for Smart City selection ... with great potential from large technology companies, KTPO, export promotion zones, lakes that need help, colleges, hospitals etc. Infrastructure and digitization would be of great support. Growth has far outpaced the development and current Ward administration keen to rejuvenate this area of Bengaluru. Ward 82 ... ideal candidate for Smart City but needs the resources and support from the State and Central Govt.

Our Bengaluru is suffering from poor waste management , Government is eager to put 5 % cess. But nothing ground we have only one Garbage vehicle per ward in Bengaluru. No Dust bin in Public place, with out this swach Bharat is impossible, We have to get rid off manual scavenger

1. Flat roads with clearly marked dividers with adequate drainage provisions - 2. Working, well timed, visible traffic signals at all intersections, cross roads, roundabouts. 3. Well built, continuous foot paths without holes. There should be means to update authorities in case of potholes on roads or foot paths. 4. Smart schools and colleges which update senior staff and parents about possible molestation or ragging scenarios. 5. Clean up and rejuvenation of all water bodies in the city.

I am unable to understand - that what is the definition of Smart city? In my term: a city that run on its own renewal energy sources without generating pollution and every official transaction/information are well linked on digital platform on real time basis, No body has to do policing work -the system of automation take care of itself in a way that fraudulent fear of it, at least a family member is well employed and every body has good food, education, shelter, public transport and medical.

I'm Neetish Purushottama (MTB Rajesh) of Garudacharpalya, a ward with hundreds of commercial complexes,industries,high-rise residential & commercial apartments, educational institutions, parks, hospitals, places of worship, government offices, open spaces and vacant plots. Our ward has robust IT Connectivity with city's major hubs of Whitefield & Marathahalli, are around the ward. I would request to consider WARD NO 82 GARUDACHARPALYA FOR SMART CITY

The biggest obstacle is haphazard parking of vehicles on the roadside. public committing offences are let off cheap. Levy such heavy fine/punishment which will make them shudder at the thought of committing offence of any kind again
