Lucknow is the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. A major metropolitan city of India. It is the second largest city in north and central India after Delhi. Lucknow has always been known as a multicultural city that flourished as a North Indian cultural and artistic hub and seat of Nawab power in the 18th and 19th centuries. It continues to be an important centre of government, education, commerce, aerospace, finance, pharmaceuticals, technology, design, culture, tourism, music and poetry.

Lucknow Municipal Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal with an intent to plan and provide smart solutions to the city and welcomes the citizens of Lucknow to post their views, opinions, thoughts and plans on smart solutions for their needs related to water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, storm water drainage, waste water management, affordable housing, energy efficiency, use of renewable and solar energy, non-motorized transport, underground electric cabling, open space development, safety, healthcare, education, culture and heritage, public transport, key infrastructure such as pedestrian walkways, cycle tracks, roads, underpasses, Fly overs, services such as e-governance tools etc.

Inputs from citizens is crucial for framing a vision for Lucknow and to get selected as one among the top 20 cities in the first year, in the Smart City Challenge round.

Water is the life line for any city and hence every citizen / house owner should be facilitated to develop rain harvesting system.

to control the day to day traffic problem ... the public should be first educated through media , then fine should be imposed ... however the fine should be through E-TICKETING wherein the amount should be deducted from the individuals bankaccount automatically ... this is possible as ADDHAR CARDS are updated in banks

- Remove stray cattle and dogs from roads - Cover open drains and nullahs - Remove Dharna sthal from the main city - Contain everyday proliferating population of roadside vendors

The electricity supply should be planned to be 99.999% reliable (about 5.3 minutes of outage per year). All the electricity cables should be underground.Substation and Distribution Automation,Indoor Substations.Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) substation for Sub-transmission and Distribution within city. Natural Gas shall be distributed to every house and building via pipes, which is cheaper and safer than cylinders.

1. Development of infrastructure is good aspect, however in the process so much debris,by-products/waste construction products is lying on the roads , pavements that makes the environment polluted and dangerous for normal humans & animals. Proper disposal of such waste/stuff should be enforced. 2. Newly created roads/pavements are been destructed/damaged due to improper planning and co-ordination between sanitary department and development authority. Need for proper planning and coordination.
