Wherever it is possible, make sure that you don't make flat roads. i mean, make the roads with slope, so if some people wants drive with engine off, can save lots of fuel. and its good for environment since no emission.

Hubli is a city surrounded by villages and places of historical importance.Waste segregation is the need of the hour. All organic waste can then be reused as compost for fields in the nearby villages.Lakes must be revived and dirtying them must be a offence. All drainages must be closed(using big pipes) and redirected to sort reservoir where the water is filtered/used to generate electricity etc.The city must grow vertically and minimum two good, fruit bearing trees must per household must be fixed

Like we have tax deduction at source, we must also have water cleaning system at source(House). Because we let out the water which is more dangerous to the environment like soap water, detergent, etc and the same water is being used to grow some vegetables… Separate dust bins for plastic wastes, organic wastes and bio wastes.

When new roads are developed make sure that you don’t dig the roads again and again. Have some plug in and plug out kind of arrangement. So this going to solve traffic congestion what we are facing right now.

1. To preserve the water bodies so that ground water can be recharged as we may face acute water shortage in the near future. 2.Install automatic power off to the street lights/solar street lights, which reduces huge burden of power tariff to HDMC. 3.To create cycle path so that traffic may be controlled to some extent & Pollution also can be reduced. 4.To construct e-toilets at each BRTS bus station, as constructed at Mysore railway station recently especially for women.

In future we are going to have more of hybrid vehicles/Electric vehicles. So plan well in advance for the paid charging points for the bikes and four wheelers. And make sure these charging points are from government entities, so this is going to generate huge revenue. Also free/paid mobile phone charging points would be great.

Good initiative to ask the suggestions of the citizens. Some of the suggestion for the smart City are:- 1. To make all government offices with Solar electricity, so that the HDMC can reduce its cost. 2.To make people also involved in the programme of waste management. This can be done by establishing the waste management at different extensions, like Navanagar, Vidyanagar etc., wherein the garbage collected and disposed in that locality only. 3. To make compulsory rain water harvesting.
