The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

davangere is full of dust and lake of infrastructure so first all this should be properly maintained.. city should have good drainage system..wi-fi facility in main areas,good footpath facility..the main thing is that the rules should be properly planed and that should be maintained the city should be covered under CCTV FACILITY..

My advice for smart city is rehabilitation of slum areas like azad nagar bashanagar ashrya layouts specially razaul mustafa nagar full drainage system wide roads parks playgrounds footpaths street lights and a separate hygienic Kasai khana supprate industrial area for poha industries.clean slumareas I think this is the major priority for adminstration give education for slum people about clearness by playing street shows.wider roads complessery parking system

My suggestions wider smooth roads specially PB and MG roads..proper underground sewage facilities.. hygienic surroundings with supply of purified water...these basic amenities are to be fulfilled first before considering to make dvg a smart one.

The city is in pathetic condition with its roads & the most important road in city I.e P.B road which is in state of apathy ,a ride on it gives you more ups & downs than a Roller coaster ,the work is being carried out at snails pace or even slow maybe..another major problem that needs to be taken care of if the city is to anywhere near smart is PIGs,they're everywhere ,every time ,anytime sometimes at the station entrance to welcome you...this is not all

My Advice First of all Plantation is required for smart city first it has to be healthy city. Secondly take steps to clean the city dirty city cant be smart city Next comes to educate citizens of the city about there city conduct meetings in colleges target youth citizen as they are the future builders of the smart city Next step POLICE plays a very vital role to change the value of the city. They should be a friendly connection between citizens and POLICE Department Applythis

We would like to have the following in Davanagere 1. Footpath should be made mandatory on all roads to avoid traffic jams. 2. Improve Drainage, Roads, Public transport system and Green energy. 3. Corrupt free administrations 4. Safety for the public. 5. More companies have to be set up, so that it avoids people moving to Bangalore. Make awareness in public about walk to work.

In respect to smart city concept,business,economic,infrastructure development are OK, but, the real development of social harmony,human development,cultural development, etc.things are very important for peace,harmony and fruitfull helping nature of people.For that,there should be YOGA,SPIRITUAL,PRAYER CENTRE in CITY.There should be no crime & no accused,Jail should be paid & luxurious with all accommodation like AC,bed-sofa,pure bhojan-breakfast,TV but no mobile-net as per jail manual strictly

In respect to smart city, people safety and security specially to woman should be given high priority.CCTV camara should be fixed at all the points from entrance of city to exit of city, which should be constantly monitored. smart city should be trade,sercives and business oriented, NO industries which make pollution, should be sanctioned within the limit of 25 kms of the city. The city should be completely with trees and plants,it should be pollution free, The people should feel like heaven

Traffic problem Improve Drainage system Solar street lights Good roads, good prepaid auto stand, hi tech busstand, maintain walking path to each main roads More hi tech hospitals, college needed WiFi facilities I t company's are needed.
