Aurangabad, a City situated in Maharashtra stands at the confluence of Ancient Cultural Heritage and Rapid Modernization. Aurangabad, One of the largest urban agglomerates in the western region of India, has evolved into a swiftly developing industrial power house with a strong investment potential. Aurangabad has now emerged into an epicenter of urban and social progress in the region due to its strategic positioning amongst the various growth centers of Maharashtra.Aurangabad is completely ready to resolve the various infrastructural challenges faced by its citizens by implementation of various “Smart” interventions and transforming them into revolutionary opportunities.

The Ministry of Urban Development has shortlisted Aurangabad as one of the 100 cities to be developed as a Smart City under the “SMART Cities Mission”. Aurangabad Municipal Corporation is in the process of formulating its Smart City Proposal for participation in the Stage 2 of the Smart City Challenge.

The dynamic citizens of Aurangabad are hereby requested to voice their opinions/suggestions for creating a unique Smart City blueprint for Aurangabad.

The citizens may post their views regarding municipal and allied civic services such as:

• Water
• Electricity Supply
• Sanitation
• Solid waste management
• Rapid and well-connected Urban Transport
• Quality Education
• Specialized Healthcare
• City wide Surveillance
• Security Infrastructure
• Robust Digital Connectivity
• Affordable Housing

The citizens are encouraged to identify the problem areas and suggest various necessary interventions required to transform Aurangabad into a world class Smart City!

Installation of CCTV cameras all over the city especially at tourist spots, along major roads, near Railway station, bus stand & coaching area etc.

Aurangabad is also famous for it's Tourism Segment. I think we have to develop the Tourism sector from larger aspect so that the more Tourism activity will create more employment opportunities in Tourism sector and can uplift our Aurangabad's image on international level.

Aurangabad is lacking the public transport facility...almost many Cities equal to Aurangabad are having their own Public Transport System. Our Corporation have to think about to implement the Public Transport System in & around the City. Citizens are facing huge problems to travel from one part to another part of the city. Many people are working in Waluj & Shendra MIDCs, they are also facing traveling problems. At the same time this ccan be an additional income sources for AMC.

As the our Corporation is already executing the Sewerage Project in the City, then it is very much possible to treat the Sewage & waste water and it can be supplied to Shendra, Waluj & Aurangabad MIDCs as well as DMIC for their industrial purposes. This will create an additional source of revenue for AMC and subsequently AMC can develop the basic infrastructure for our Citizens.

Now a days IT is the important part of our day to day life but our Corporation is still prefer to follow the Paperworks, citizens have to go to AMC Offices for almost 99% of their works & issues. My only request & view is, if world is paperless and following the E-governance system then why not our Corporation is implementing the E-governance system...

Industrial Sector is one of the major economic drivers of Aurangabad and at the same time DMIC Corridor is also at the verge of City. I think our city must have world class transportation & connectivity including public Transport, Eco-Vehicles, Traffic Management System, No-vehicular zones etc. This will definitely improve the face of our City at national & international level..."My City - Smart City"

Aurangabad – Smart city –A dream come true- Views of Mr.N.Sriram Aurangabad has smart city in it genes with unique advantage of being a heritage city where quality of life is much better than other metros and towns where I have lived in Maharashtra. A good example would be that I can reach any part of city within 30 minutes and I hardly spend more than 40 minutes in my commute back and forth to my factory in Waluj. This adds at least 2 hours to our work life balance
