India’s Handloom sector is a symbol of our glorious cultural heritage and is an important source of livelihood in the country.

The first National Handloom Day was held on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured and their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country is highlighted, and the resolve to protect our handloom heritage and to empower the handloom weavers and workers with greater opportunities is reaffirmed.

Let us, together, ensure the sustainable development of the handloom sector by supporting our handloom weavers and workers for their exquisite craftsmanship.

As we approach National Handloom Day, we invite you to come forward & support the Handloom weavers/artists by sharing your photos or videos wearing or using Handloom products. The best pictures and videos will get featured at MyGov – the world’s biggest citizen engagement platform.

This is a nice innovative plan. Most of the handloom products of world are made in India. The qualities of this handlooms are as best as we see made by hands☺️. This platform is awaring people and Making attraction towards handlooms of our motherland. It's also good for common people who make handlooms ☺️

First of all thanks for this innovative idea and giving this platform where common people showcase our Indian prestigious handloom products. I attached my photograph where I flaunt my hand stitched cotton mask and pure khadi dupatta. This dupatta gifted by Nanu & Nani on my 18th birthday. Whenever I wear it generate confidence in me. Thanx to our talented Indian people who showcase their talent and also preserve Indian heritage. Thank you🙏

यह सुझाव बुनकर और जुलाहों के लिए है। pidilite ब्रांड का एक Glue , Favicril खास फेब्रिक और सूत जोड़ने हेतु , बाजार में उपलब्ध है। इसके उपयोग से, handloom weavers की efficiency, 10% तक बढ़ जाती है।

These are handlooms from Telangana pochampally weavers.we can see the prints and designs in powerlooms but we feel the weave in handlooms.handloom is an emotional connection between weavers and the process of weaving.my plea,you may not transform your clothing from powerlooms but you can minimise .Looking forward for my people to give good standards of life for our weavers and restore countries rich heritage of handlooms and handcrafts.
