Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed all over the world in ever-growing numbers, with the objective of reminding people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to the public health.

The preparations for the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2021) have already begun and the Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people. The event will be observed in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines of the government, with a greater focus on digital activities. In these tough times, all are encouraged to “Be with Yoga, Be at Home”

With this backdrop, MoA invites all citizens to share their ideas on how people can plan to observe the 7th IDY at home with their friends and families while mobilizing the wider community to maintain the ethos of Yoga and ensure community wellbeing. These ideas can be further utilized by the Ministry in conduction different programs dedicated to building the enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health

The last date for submission of ideas is 30th June 2021.

2. Village and small towns need special attention as they are on verge of desease explosion. Sedentary life which was generally felt in city now it is engulfing villages. Young generations are more prone to such lethargy.

1. Teachers, community and parents have to be integral part of imbibing yoga culture in young India and need continuous motivation till it is internalised forever in one's routine activities.

In a village,there is nothing about yoga in poor people..we must aware those peoples regarding..about yoga..their benifits.poor people dosen't have tv or multimedia.we have to share the benefits of yoga in their daily life.. so I requested that start a campain about yoga in slums. Thanking u

Ministry of Urban Development , Ministry of Environment , Ayush ministry can jointly encourage Good NEW Urban Parks in cities, towns, Villages with Shadegiving trees, Half Kilometer length walkways, Medicinal plants trees like Neem etc and Give Ranks to cities Towns states every year as Healthy Cities for Good Walking, Yoga Suitable infra by giving 2 crore, 1 crore to 25 Towns 500 Villages in each categories as encouragement

#FitIndia and Ministry of Ayush can publish 5 series of Books on Yoga Excersises, Yogasans for students from Primary School level to University Level , and start an extensive plan to produce New 50000 Trained Yoga & PhysicalEducation Teachers across Nation by next Yoga Day ,with help of Big Temples, Universities etc as Youth Volunteers from 9th class to Degree level NSS ,NCC etc, make mandotory ban of using Alcohol, cigarettes etc as Character Building along with Human Excellence classes
