Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed all over the world in ever-growing numbers, with the objective of reminding people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to the public health.

The preparations for the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2021) have already begun and the Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people. The event will be observed in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines of the government, with a greater focus on digital activities. In these tough times, all are encouraged to “Be with Yoga, Be at Home”

With this backdrop, MoA invites all citizens to share their ideas on how people can plan to observe the 7th IDY at home with their friends and families while mobilizing the wider community to maintain the ethos of Yoga and ensure community wellbeing. These ideas can be further utilized by the Ministry in conduction different programs dedicated to building the enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health

The last date for submission of ideas is 30th June 2021.

The concept of International Yoga Day was proposed by the respected Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. The initiative was established in 2014, and the United Nations declared in December 204 that 21st June would be celebrated as the International Yoga Day. The first International Yoga Day was held in Rajpath, New Delhi. The second International Yoga Day was celebrated in the city of Chandigarh. The third International Yoga Day was celebrated in the city of Lucknow.

International yoga day 2021 will celebrate Monday , 21th June 2021. This year theme is "YOGA AT HOME YOGA WITH FAMILY" My suggestion ... There should a programme that all people of india live in home and do yoga at home by watching from tv and or there own and there. Also a Radio program (instruction about yoga) Other wise govt also help to youtube lives Facebook Live to attend yoga day at home ... That's more attractive on this year yoga at home 🏠. Be safe be healthy.

celebrating yoga is indeed a good idea but still implementation in general public or awareness or liking or practice of yoga is not popular...we all know about benefits of yoga but cant put in practice as it is not a part of our hectic life style..means yoga is a thing for mere schools only coz schools have set a period for it!! cant we set a short period in each n every field??

International Yoga Day 2021 will be celebrated on Monday, June 21, 2021. International Yoga Day theme is "Yoga at home and Yoga with family". You Know the whole world is going through COVID -19 pandemic and almost every country has imposed lockdown in certain form. Exercise helps us to stay optimistic and Yoga helps us to explore new ideas to spend time and earn money 💰 without going outside. Thus venue of this Yoga Day is our home 🏠. Stay Home_Stay Safe.

•More emphasis on Suryanamaskar should be given because it is easy to do and easy to learn and it includes different types of poses. •Yoga should be a mandatory topic in school and teachers should encourage children to do yoga...it will create a yoga-conscious generation...and in this way children can also encourage thier parents to do yoga with them. •More quizzes and competion on yoga should take place to spread awareness. •Benefits of yoga on body and mind should be spread.
