The Municipal Corporation of Sagar has revised and upgraded its Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Round – 3. The Draft Round – 3 proposal envisions development of a ECO-2 HUB (Eco-friendly Economic Hub) a 908 acres of Area based Development (ABD) is a Retrofit-cum-Redevelopment of 194 acres of Historic Katra Area (old city) and 714 acres of new area centred around Lakha Banjara Lake. The ABD integrate two synergistic Potential centres first the "Katra and Fort Area (Old CBD)” for revitalization of the local economy, culture and tourism experience and other new area to be developed as Regional Economic Centre (Future CBD) to nurture diverse economic activities, efficiently served by Transit Facilities in "Central City Bus Terminal" connected by a High Capacity Bus System Corridor. The ABD will combine intelligent regeneration of the historic and cultural core, Markets, Lakefront & Public Spaces with the Redevelopment of Old Jail & Collectorate for creating compact, mixed-use and sustainable neighborhoods. The Area will become a more accessible, attractive, decongested and walkable area by leveraging transit linkages and application of transit-oriented development measures. Its strength lies in robust financial structuring making the project financially viable and generating additional revenues for replication for future ABDs. ABD will ensure that Sagar strengthens its economy by connecting past (Old CBD) with the Future (New CBD) along with state of the art infrastructure facilities.
The PAN City proposal envisages development of SAGAR CITY MANAGEMENT & CONTROL SYSTEM (SCMC SYSTEM). SCM Pan-city proposal is a comprehensive ICT based system, which will incorporate smart and efficient modules for Traffic & Transit Management and Safety & Security Management in initial phase. It will integrate existing deployed ICT modules & will aggregates all future ICT-enabled interventions to be implemented in a phased manner.
