Examination reforms that focus on problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills are critical to improving quality at the secondary level. Such reforms will change the teaching–learning processes and improve learning outcomes. In recent years, CBSE has introduced wide-ranging examination reforms in schools affiliated to it, such as Class X Board Examination has been made optional, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has been strengthened so that the students, are assessed on an ongoing basis for their holistic development, a system of grading in place of marks has been introduced. The objectives are to look at the existing systems and suggest reforms which would help better assessment of students.

CCE(continuous and comprehensive evaluation)system which was implemented a few years ago, has increased exam burden on children. There are five exams (one every month)which keep children under continuous pressure. There is no space left for outdoor playing. It is affecting mental and physical well being of our children. CCE system must be aborted and three exam per year are sufficient. It will also relieve teachers from extra documentation work.Let our children enjoy their golden period of life

In my opinion the CCE and No detention policy are good moves by the Govt. We have to help the students learn and not detain them just based on one test. even the exam option at class 10th Board should be totally optional. This will finally make students and teachers more responsible and accountable towards learning and NOT depend on Tuition classes. To make our country a developed Nation and learn without Fear - we need to Say NO to Competition, Ranking, Tuition classes and Examination

No experiments with the youth vis-a-vis education policy of no fail system, CCE Term wise exam. The demerits are far too many and much discussed already. The diversity of India is its biggest strength, at the same time a hindrance to progress. Therefore, radical changes to education system may have worked in some other countries, but we can't copy and expect it to work here too.
