In the past three years, the Government has endeavoured to remove corruption in every form and technology presents itself as one of the most potent tools. But, technological interventions work when the interventions are simple, transparent and include a public feedback mechanism. Utilising advancements in technology, the Government is following a multi-pronged strategy to tackle the problem in an effective manner

1. Transferring benefits directly to beneficiaries
2. Making government procurements transparent
3. Digitization of service deliveries
4. Promoting Cashless Transactions
5. Jan Bhagidari
6. Open Government Data

Direct Benefit Transfer was a significant step towards plugging leakages. Amount transferred via DBT is increasing and leakages are reducing. The government has laid equal emphasis on citizens getting Aadhaar. The Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) trinity will bring complete accountability in monetary transactions and eliminate ghost beneficiaries.

Additionally, Government e-Marketplace (GeM) was launched to make government procurements simple and transparent, eliminating any scope of corruption. Faceless e-assessment for income tax payers introduced from 2018 was another important step. Tax officers now communicate with the taxpayers through the ‘E-Proceeding' facility which reduces human interface.

The fight against corruption is a long and arduous one. Various online platforms have been introduced by the government, wherein the citizens can join forces with them by sharing their feedback and views. The decision to involve the honest citizens of our country in the fight increases the strength of the force against corruption to a great extent.

In the same vein, MyGov invites citizens to share their ideas on how technology can be used to uproot corruption and suggest innovations to fight the malice in an effective manner. Ideas and suggestions can be provided in the form of a comment below or by attaching a PDF document.

What needs to be done is to set up an Alibaba-style global online marketplace for all Indian manufactured goods. A hypothetical “indianbaba.com" might be linked to from the Prime Minister’s office site verifying that it is government inspected ensuring that all goods on the site are manufactured with majority content derived within India. Diaspora worldwide should be able to use a typical shopping cart checkout and get items delivered into their country. GDP may rise > Al Capones go to jail

Look in any overseas country and you will find most Indians abroad living in affluent suburbs with respectable homes and neighbourhoods. Even though many may have migrated out of India several decades ago, almost all still have significant family and connections to India. They are willing to support Indian manufacturers if you could make it easy for them to do so. They tend to be busy workaholics and time is of essence to them. (Continued next post)

India now resembles what the U.S. looked like in the 1930’s when Al Capone and other mobs ruled the country. The U.S. government gradually increased their revenues by way of increasing the country’s GDP and then were able to install more law and order across the country. In order to fight corruption, Indian government first needs more revenues and this can be best achieved by increasing GDP of the country. (Continued in next post due to character limit)

corruption is kindled, nurtured, grown, multiplied mushroomed by one and all of those who fail from their call of duty; banks run after new loans to reach targets and other interests; internal or external auditors fail to identify snags because if they dont identify they are rewarded more than when they identify. supervisors and controllers rely on records of returns and statement and auditors certificates submitted to them; and they tend to overlook the reality hushed up underlying the carpet.

when banks dont identify NPAs for fear of provisioning and higher capital requirement, reals are hidden more than that declared; Let banks disclose NPAs truly; let auditors take responsibility in NPA disclosures; then no bank shall be beyond PCA. even when liabilities more than double the principal, they are not yet declared as NPAs; who are being hoodwinked; PSBs are cheating the public that repose faith on them with their hard earned money as savings; auditors and RBI shd awake to act.

banks spoil the society by over lending, multiple lending by multiple banks the same borrowers; borrowers are tempted and tempted more when the recovery laws are not so stringent; general mindset of indian borrower is to borrow and not to repay unless compelled to do repay; be small or big loan defaulter, banks shd be harsh on defaulters and recovery laws shd penalise defaulters; all borrowers are alike before law, irrespective of the quantum, the result of default is the intention to weed.

refer to times of india dt 10 03 2017 for news on tranquilising a leopard; when humans invade and encroach into territories of animal kingdom, they resist;but human with their wickedness overcome the animals and in the name of tranquilising, the wild animals are killed; save wild animals; not to tranquilise them when we dont have sufficient knowledge of how to handle; let people co exist rather than eliminationg wilds and only wicked humans shall exist
