The education system in the 21st century must promote innovation while revamping the traditional educational system. The need for quality improvement in the curriculum and the desire to equip students with 21st century competencies has brought innovation at the core of the educational ecosystem. Hence, school culture that support innovation should be developed and encouraged extensively. The National Education Policy 2020 has a big focus on innovation as a tool for revamping the educational system.

In view of this, CBSE along with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell has developed guidelines for schools for promotion of Innovation and Entrepreneurial skills in students, titled ‘National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Promotion Policy (NIEPP)’. The policy guides school education systems on various measures that may be adopted to promote a learning environment where creativity, ideation, innovation, problem solving and entrepreneurship skills of students are nurtured, irrespective of their age.

Most of the youth in the country have made their objective as attaining a job, but there should be a proper understanding about Innovation, Ideation, Problem solving both in terms of Theory and Practical from the school age itself, as that is the age when their mind gets tuned. This is a wonderful move by the Government to introduce syllabus on entrepreneurship in schools. However proper infrastructure has to be provided and training of teachers and also workshops and seminars with experts and successful entrepreneurs should be conducted. The subjects incorporated in the curriculum should not be redundant, rather it has to be dynamic and the teachers should teach out of passion rather than teaching it as an erstwhile marks scoring subject.

The time has changed, gone are those days when we used to say, "we are marching into the future". We are in the age of technology and speed. The reforms should not only focus on Students but also Teaches as well. We have seen during the pandemic how many good teachers face issues due to lack of tech awareness. Like how a seed takes time to grow into a tree, innovative thinking also needs time. Like how a seed needs water and suitable land, the students will also need tech friendly Teachers and infrastructure. Innovation and Entrepreneurship approach varies form individual to individual. A fisherman's son might think of an innovation in fishing to reduce his father's pain, like Padma Shri Chintakindi Mallesham. We need to understand one thing the base for future innovations is present/past. So, the best thing to start with is by asking "What you want to do....." than just say, Ai is the Future or EV-Power is the Future. Simple innovations can also change the world & add to our economy
