There is no doubt about the benefits the GST would entail, if not anything, in terms of making the national single market. But there is a lot of, misinformation going on, undoubtedly to create a chaos. One of the example is the napkins, the GST is being shown as a sexist move, and a campaign is on, at least in the state where I am residing. It would be better to come out with media advertisement, to tell public about the total tax before and after (eg sanitary napkins in fact the tax has reduced

GST in general terms is a great initiative and we whole heartedly support it. But there are probably few things that need to be corrected. Congratulations to the Government. Only a strong Government like the one headed by Modi ji can probably bring it.

May be Officers understood it better but in case of small purchases from unregistered vendors, there is reverse charge mechanism. So, the buyer pays tax and gets credit. This is complex. Do not pay tax and do not get credit - simple. Charge tax on final product. This will increase working capital.
Exporters pay tax and get credit on raw material. This will sure be returned but this increases requirement of working capital and another window to contact the officers and thus corruption.

In case of existing exporting units - exporting until last week, to obtain factory stuffing permission or bond facility, along with other documents, a verification certificate from the concerned officer is also required. For new units, it is understood, but for existing units, this opens a window for corruption. In any case, the system has to be simpler and not complicated.

There are few things that the Ministry should look into. HSN codes need to be understood and explained better. There are mis-understandings.
An example. HSN 63053200 is FIBC. Raw material has duty of 18% and finished goods as 5%. Though in Textile chaper,It is an industrial product and not a dress or dress material. There are other products like this as well. On such products that is of industrial use, GST should be revised to a higher slab. In any case, Industries can avail GST credit easily.

Total confusion prevails over HSN code. Better to discard it and bring about a schedule of goods with commodity names with common paralance and simple to understand.
