With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

there are some products that can be set in lowest slab of 5% or 0% like- sanitary napkins for women, exempt products like ghee, butter as they are produced from milk and milk is exempted from GST. And in future reduced it to two or three slabs.

R/Sir, Milk is exempt from GST, but butter, ghee and other dairy products are taxable. As observed in our daily life, most of the milk dairies sell both milk and taxable milk products but never account for these taxable supplies. How will the GST going to check this? 2. In e-way bill rules, it must be made mandatory for manufacturer-cum-seller to provide the registration nos of all vehicles by which he intends to transport goods from the place manufacture to the place of sale

Dear Sir, As you understand there are all types of dealers enrolled under GST -Big, Medium, Small etc. We would be thankful if you could clarify if Two series of Invoices can be used one created by computer and other cash invoice for small amounts of counter sales. And also in case of power problems and in absence of computer operator can we use other manual invoice book for creating sale bills.
