Thousands of commuters pass by Guwahati railway stations and Isbt everyday. What if we can convert the energy produced by there footsteps into electricity. This is an ambitious project and will require huge investment but if the tiles installed for this purpose is used as advertising one of many products then this cost can be beared by private companies, as we know they spend a huge sum for advertising.

"EDUCATION" - Educate citizens how to live in a city. Our minds and activities must have to be an educated human being. Problems like - Artificial flood, Illegal land grabbing and building structures, cleaning and clearing slums including anti-social activities must have to solve permanently before thinking of a "Smart City".
All the 6 Points should be considered which is mentioned in the guideline, and which is a must-to-be followed in the SCP,
1.24X7 water and electricity supply,
2.Sanitation and solid waste management,
3.Efficient urban mobility and public transport,
4.Robust IT connectivity,
5.E-governance and citizen participation,
6.Safety and security of citizens.
Guwahati face annual flood due to heavy rains includng all other parts of Assam mainly because of it's poor drainage network. So, drainage network should be focused in the Smart City Plan.
Dear Sir ,
Guwahati is a great place to stay and to live life. It is great to hear that it has been selected for 100 Smart city. Sir i want to directly come to the point that Guwahati should be free from flood . Drainage system is very poor , it should be improved.
The Guwahati city requires to ensure basic infrastructure services to enable a decent quality of life in urban pockets and a clean and sustainable environment and adoption of smart solutions and providing more public spaces to poor. It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives.
There is also need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.
Smart City Project is one of the biggest challenge as well as the opportunity for the state of Assam. I hope to see Guwahati as one of the Smart City of India.
