The electronics waste (e-waste) comprises of discarded electrical and electronic equipment, and poses serious challenges globally for improper disposal practices especially in informal sector.

Hon’ble PM has emphasized the need for creating awareness for environmental issues under “Swach Digital Bharat’ during his address at NASSCOM event on 01.03.2015. On the direction of Hon’ble PM, MeitY has initiated the “Awareness Programme on Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste through Digital India Initiative” over a period of five years to create awareness among the public about the hazards of e-waste recycling by the informal sector and educate them about alternate methods of disposing their e-waste.

Over 95 per cent of e-waste generated is managed by the informal sector. Integration of the informal sector and access to environmentally safe recycling technologies may reduce the health and environmental hazards. In addition to technology, capacity building, skill management, scientific recycling mechanism, business management training are also required for safe recycling of e-waste.

In this context, MeitY is inviting citizen inputs to provide solution for leakage of E-Waste in the informal sector, and suggest proper recycling technology for E-Waste that is economically available.

The last date of submission of suggestions is 4th April, 2018.

For any further information about E-Waste, please visit the GREENE website.

For disposing e-waste, there must be mechanism for disposing by recycling and re-use. New scheme has to be introduced by the govt. of India for youth of India, so that people can take-up the scheme.

If the electronic waste is to be discarded but in a usable condition then it can be donated to institution like NGO and other needy students after taking proper backup of the same. The other option may be of disposing the e waste in a distant landfill as it contains dangerous elements.

The waste tube-light and CFL from household can be collected at regional center at each locality which is to be formed by Indian government. The main task of this center is to collect this glass waste from lamp,tube-light,fluorescent bulb etc. and recycle it by removing its fluorescent white coating and further making silicon IC manufacturing industries to make Silicon wafers in IC industries

discarded electronic items like tubelights ,led, cfl etc form huge chunk of waste in all households, and we often don't know how to dispose them and ultimately they are dumped in oped grounds.Creating collection centres for such waste in every district through local administration will help consumers as well as ensure proper disposal.Like we have raddiwala going around why cant we have people who are hired specifically to collecting such waste .it will have multiple positives .

All we have to do is to start making new products by using this E-waste. we have to follow the principle of restoration and making the new products by using the old. I am posting some examples to give the better idea about the suggestion. we can use these products in offices, homes and at other places. its all depends on creativity and passion. I can help the government in this project.
